Welcome to the inaugural edition of OurChurch.Com's Custom CMS Express newsletter. We've introduced this newsletter to help keep you informed so you can maximize the impact your Custom CMS Express website has on your business or ministry. It will be distributed approximately 4 times a year and include helpful tips, changes in our CMS policies and procedures, and a list of the newest components and upgrades available. We hope you'll take a few minutes to read through this newsletter and give us your feedback.

1) 5 HOT NEW COMPONENTS
Every quarter we do a full review of all the components that encompass the Custom CMS Express service, checking for upgrades and improvements. We also evaluate new components, which we think might be useful to add to the CMS options. Here are 5 new components we now have recently introduced.

a) Event Registration The event registration enables organizations to manage sign up for trips, conferences, classes, and concerts online. It even allows participants to pay for tickets or registration fees online. Many churches are phasing out old paper sign-up sheets in favor of online registration. People can register online from home or call a staff person who can quickly sign them up while on the phone. Some churches even place Internet-connected computers (often donated) in the church lobby for registration before and after services.

b) Classified Ads & Needs/Help Board With this component a site can operate a traditional classified ad service. Or they can Needs/Help board. A Needs/Help board is a feature intended to facilitate people within an organization helping each other. People can post help or items they need. For example, an elderly person might need someone to drive them to the store once a week, or a single mom might need a big brother for her son, or someone may be looking for an inexpensive used car. People can also post items they have to give away or services they can provide. For example, someone might offer to fix people's cars or rake laves. Someone else might have baby clothes they would like to give away. It's a great way to help people and build community, particularly in a church.

c) Podcast Enables you to podcast sermons or other audio for people to listen to on their iPod or MP3 player.

d) Job Board Enables you to post job openings and enables interested people to complete an application form right there on your site.

e) Document Manager If you have permission slips, policies, reimbursement forms, or other documents that your staff, members, or customers use regularly, Document Manager helps you make them all available online in a categorized repository.

2) NEW CUSTOM CMS EXPRESS FORUM
A new forum has been created for the discussion of Custom CMS Express issues. This is a great place to post questions. We also hope you'll share tips and advice with other Custom CMS Express administrators. Stop by, post a message, and introduce yourself to other Custom CMS Express administrators.

3) CHANGE TO CUSTOM CMS EXPRESS ANNUAL SUPPORT
A standard part of the Custom CMS Express service is the annual support and related fee. Previously it cost $60/yr and included all critical security grades plus an hour of non-critical support, which could be used for help, additional training, or other improvements. After a review, we found it necessary to increase both the fee to $120 and the included support from one hour to two. This will not impact you until its time to renew your annual support.
