Last week I wrote The First Step Towards a Successful 2015 Is… Dream. And I provided 3 important tips to the dream phases of your 2015 preparations. If you missed, it, go back and give it quick read.
If you haven’t already taken some time out of your busy schedule to dream about 2015, I strongly encourage you to do that this week.
Of course, dreaming and envisioning the future you want to see is just the beginning of the process. Once you know where you want to go, you need to…
Develop a plan to get there.
Here are some trends to consider:
- 80% of people looking for a church start their search online
- 61 percent of Internet users research products online before making a purchase
- 44% percent of online shoppers begin that research with a search engine
- Repeat customers spend 3x as much as new customers, highlighting the importance of ongoing communication with customers
- By 2017, 26% of all online sales will take place on a mobile device
The bottom line is, if your dreams for 2015 include growing your church, school, ministry or business, then…
Online communication should be at the heart of your plans
Could 2015 be the year your church gets serious about reaching your community by replacing it’s 1999 era website with the animated doves with a new, responsive website that looks and functions like champ on computers, tablets and phones?
Could 2015 be the year your school finally reaches full enrollment with an attractive website that ranks well in search engines?
Could 2015 be the year your business experiences 20% growth because you’re finally listed accurately in all the local search engines, map apps and local review sites?
One thing you can be certain of… none of these things will happen without a plan. Because as you’ve probably heard…
People don’t plan to fail; they fail to plan. -John Beckley

Now if you’re not website developer or search engine optimization guru, you may be thinking, “Where do I begin?”
How do you create a plan for something you don’t know what to do? That’d be like trying to write out directions to a place you’ve never been.
Well, you talk to an expert, someone who has been there, someone who has helped lots of other people get there, someone you can trust to help you get there.

Our 2015 plans are set. For us 2014 was about the getting the platform launched (new website), so that in 2015 we could focus on content. We've already seen an increase in traffic from the new website so our hope is that this traffic bump will help fuel our content goals.
Awesome Darrel! Sounds like a great plan!
Thanks for the steps, this gave me some good ideas for our 2015
