We’ve got some news for those of you who are still using the original (1.0 version of) of our WP-EZ Website Builder…
It’s been more than 6 years since we introduced WP-EZ 2.0, with its new themes, page templates, and drag-and-drop page builder, but we still have a couple hundred organizations that are still using 1.0.
This year one of our goals is to help as many organizations as possible migrate from 1.0 to 2.0.
If you’re not sure which version of WP-EZ you’re using, login to MyOCC, click the “WP-EZ Admin” button, and in the top right part of the page you’ll see which them and version you’re using.
We are doing several things to help organizations migrate to WP-EZ 2.0
1) New, simpler migration tool.
We simplified the migration tool from a 3 step process to a 1-step process. Now, when you switch from a 1.0 theme to a 2.0 theme (which takes just a few clicks), your website is officially a 2.0 site. There is nothing more you HAVE TO do.
After you switch themes, you’ll probably want to update your pages using the page templates and drag-and-drop page builder, but if and when you do that is up to you.
For more details see our new WP-EZ 1.0 to 2.0 Migration FAQs help page
2) Best support team in the world!
Our support team is available from 9am – 9pm ET Monday-Friday by email, help desk, live chat or phone. We also provide support via help desk over the weekend. If you have questions about migrating your website, contact us and we will provide all the help you need.
3) WP-EZ 1.0 Usage Fee starts May 1
Managing two versions of the WP-EZ Website Builder requires extra resources. Therefore, starting May 1, any organizations still using WP-EZ 1.0 will incur a $7/mo WP-EZ 1.0 Usage Fee to support the old version.
4) We will migrate your site for you dirt cheap!
These days, what do you pay per hour for a plumber? Electrician? Auto mechanic? $100/hr $125? $150?
Rates for web development work are similar. But, we will migrate your site for you for less than half our normal hourly rates.
The cost to have us migrate your site? Just $99 plus $15/page, for a typical page (longer pages and those with a lot of media may be more).

We understand change is never easy, and like most people you are probably very busy, but your old website is probably holding back the growth of your church, ministry or business. This is your opportunity to take a step forward.
Growth is hard. Change is hard. But nothing is as hard as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong. -Mandy Hale

I am not happy about this. I have tons of pages because every single sermon audio file is posted on a separate page, and we have several years worth of sermons. I need to thin a lot more of them out, but even if they were already thinned out through last year we would still have a ton of pages. The 2023 Sermons page alone has links to 52 separate sermon pages. That’s $780 right there! Paying $15/page for our entire site would be prohibitively expensive!
I have resisted migrating because when I migrated from the older platform to the original version of WP-EZ, your tool did not preserve the page formatting and my site was a mess. I had to pretty much redo the entire site and it took a lot of time. I did not want to have to go through that a 2nd time.
I, like the web administrators of many other small churches, am a volunteer who takes care of the website in my spare time. It’s very unlikely that I can complete the migration before May. I hope you will reconsider this deadline of charging for the older platform and give us more time.
Thank you.
Hi Jean, thanks for your comment. I understand why you wouldn’t be happy about this. To clarify, you don’t have to complete your migration by May to avoid the WP-EZ 1.0 Usage fee. All you have to do is switch to a 2.0 theme.
Additionally, once you switch themes, and review the pages of your website, you may decide it’s not necessary to update some pages. If I were in your situation, I would not update every sermon page in the archive.
I have been exploring for a little for any high quality articles or blog
posts in this kind of area . Exploring in Yahoo I
at last stumbled upon this website. Reading this information So i am happy to
exhibit that I have an incredibly excellent uncanny feeling I
came upon just what I needed. I most unquestionably will make
certain to don?t put out of your mind this web site and give it a
glance regularly.
