It’s been a busy month and it seems everyone wants to get in on the action.  Google has launched Google Places Carousel.  Bing started Bing Boards.  Facebook released Graph Search into the wild, and much more.

These are some big changes.  Google Places Carousel promises to change way people search locally and Facebook’s widened release of Graph Search will not only potentially change the way people search, but also may be exposing your private info right now.

Watch the video below for more info:

    • Great info Kurt. I really like the look and usability of the local results "carousel." I noticed that the carousel is implemented for restaurant search results, but when I search for churches or schools I get the older style with the results on the left and map on the right. Any idea if this will eventually get rolled out for all location related searches like churches and schools?

      • There hasn't been any indication from Google one way or the other as to whether they will roll out the carousel for church and schools. Right now I think they are testing it out on a smaller scale to see how it does. If it works out according to whatever goals they have for it, I don't see why they wouldn't roll it out to more categories. We'll have to wait and see.

    • I really appreciate the analysis shared by the Kurt. I apologize for the all SEO threads to implement in our SEO life. Thanks for sharing with us.
