Do you want to experience growth in your relationship with God, your family relationships, your ministry, or your business?

I certainly do.

If you want to experience growth too, there are two very important principles you have to understand, which I’ll share with you here.

When you think of growth, what does that look like?

Many people I talk to want – and even expect – to experience consistent, linear growth. I’m a very analytical and visual person, so, if I were to graph the growth many people expect, it would look like this:

But the reality is, there isn’t a single area of life in which growth actually looks like that. Most people who are growing spiritually, relationally, or in their ministry or business, experience growth that looks more like the stock market, with lots of ups and downs.

Growth Principle #1: Growth is never linear; it’s a series of growth spurts.

Now that we’ve busted the myth of linear growth, consider the spiritual, relational, and ministry paths you’ve observed in your own life and the people around you.

We already know they’re not smooth and linear, but do they all trend up and to the right like the stock market?

Or do some areas of life look more like a series of ups and downs with no real progress?

Almost everyone has experienced this pattern in at least one area of their life.

Growth Principle #2: Growth is not guaranteed; it takes intentionality.

Think about all the areas of life in which you’ve experienced a period of growth. They always involve intentionality and effort, along with the grace and power of God.

Now let’s apply these growth principles to your website and online communications…

First, your website traffic, search rankings, email subscribers, etc are not going to experience constant, linear growth. There are going to be ups and downs.

Second, if you’re not intentional, your website traffic, search rankings, email subscribers, etc will be a series of ups and downs with no real progress. But…

If you’re intentional, you can repeatedly “Level Up,” and experience a series of growth spurts.

At OurChurch.Com we’ve declared July to be…

Level Up Month

Our goal this month is to guide and empower you to discover and implement your Next Step.

That next thing that will take your website and your ministry or business to the next level.

Or maybe your next step is to participate in our first ever 10 Day Level Up Your Website Challenge. (Stay tuned for a big announcement about that next week!)

Then post a comment below and discuss…

  • Is your website and online communications growing or stuck in a series of ups and downs without much progress?
