We’re less than a month away from Easter, the Sunday on which more people will attend a church service than any other.
Many churches put more time and resources into outreach in the weeks leading up to Easter because they believe more people are open to going to a church service on Easter than any other time of the year.
We at OurChurch.Com have been saying for more than a decade:
Google is the highway to your church.
But we were curious to see if the data backs up the assumption that people search more for churches in the month before Easter.
We compiled data from all the churches we serve with our church SEO services, comparing the number of visitors to church websites the month before Easter compared to the month previous to that in both 2016 and 2017.
On average, the number of visitors from search engine to church websites was up 14% the month before Easter.
So, yes, data shows more people will be searching for a church in your area this month.
Is your church website ready? Have you removed all the old, out-dated information? Have you added information about Easter and other Holy Week services and events?
Have you optimized your website for search engines? Setup and verified local listings?
If not, now is the time to do it. If you need help with your church website design or church SEO, we would love to help you so you can reach more people in your community this Easter.
