Despair of God
How the earth groans
Is that God I hear
With despair and misery
His anguish is very clear
Our iniquities multiply
We are like a swamp
That sinks deeper into darkness
With no guiding lamp.
God roars his protest
In rumbling volcanic clouds
We shiver in fear wrapped
In our quivering shrouds.

Gods Blessings
Fields awash with yellow corn
Glowing golden for miles.
Interwoven by lush green hedgerows
And a wood of towering trees.
Contrasting red poppies stretch
Their hue as far as the eye can see,
Broken stillness only by a breeze.
Gods blessing of sight.
Rippled waters of the weir cascade
Down to the river flowing for miles.
Intercepted by the quacking ducks
Waddling among reeds.
Chugging motor boats, and handles
Turning of the lock gates
To gushing flowing sounds.
Gods blessing of hearing.
.
Honey suckle bush exudes its
Heady perfume for seeming miles.
Interrupted only by the mock orange
And brief encounters of rosemary,
Sage, lavender and the rose.
Newly mowed lawn and the air
After a shower of summer rain.
Gods blessing of smell.
Hand in hand to walk life’s
Journey for miles and miles.
Love entwined by despair, hope, grief,
Doubt, faith and suffering.
Enlightenment, exploring the
Depths of the soul to inquire
And know ones self to the full.

Light of Day
As I see the light of day
Drifting through the cracks,
I am reminded that Your light
Lord, lightens my darkest hour
For You have given me
A new day a new start
And I rise with the joy of life
Which only You can empower.
Each steps enfolds as Your light
Swamps the universe
So much so that Your wonderers
Burst like a bud into flower.

As darkness descends let
Your light forever glow
To cast all troubles of the
Day, from pains and woe.
Watch all corners of our
Hearts and soul oh Jesus
Leave us not but hold us
While we rest in Thee
For behold the night calls
It’s wonder of mystery.

As the night descends
Cover us with your promises
Which are like the stars that
Are never ending,
Shining as candles that never cease.
A day is ending and you have
Bought us to this hour, when
We drift to the unknown realm of
Sleep. To rest in your arms
And know we are safe. Where
Troubles are far away and our
Prayer is to carry us gently to
Another day.

In the heat of the day
If I could have just a
Little water and a little wisdom
In the cold of the night
If I could have just a
Little warmth and a little understanding
In the pouring rain of the morning
If I could have just a
Little sunshine and a little knowledge
In the blizzard of the evening
If I could just have
A little light and a little patience
Then my spirit will be gentle

I Believe In Rainbows
I believe in rainbows that
Come with a shower of rain
They seep into the soul and
Take away the pain.
I believe in trees that reach
To the heavenly sky
They touch into the soul and
Soothe the reasons why.
I believe in birds that are
Free to sing their tune
They bring joy to the soul
From early morn till noon.
I believe in flowers that
Bloom in early spring
They bring hope to the soul and
Take away life’s sting.
I believe in music that
Come to our ear
It brings peace to the soul and
Takes away any fear.
I believe in the love of God
That’s with us every day
This is in our very soul and
No one can take away.
I believe in miracles
That’s there before our eyes
Take note of everyone you see
In our precious earthly lives.

You are my comforter when I
Feel alone and in despair
You guide me when I am
At the cross roads of life.
You nudge me when I have
Doubts in my abilities
You speak to me when I
Read your words.
You are in my thoughts
When I wake to a new day
You are in the wind that
Wrestles with the trees.
You are in the rain that
Drizzles down my window pane
You are in the sun that
Warms the earth to new growth
You are in the stars that I
Watch twinkling in the universe
You O God are in all things
That goes on to eternity.
