The Mansfield Free Will Baptist Church is a body of believers organized to proclaim the gospel of Christ Jesus and to provide a house of worship and a place of instruction in the Bible, the word of God.
This church began in 1968 in the basement of a house on Laver Road. It was a handful of people, but they had the love of God in their hearts, and a strong desire to see lost souls saved. As years passed by, people joined the family of God in this house and before long they were in need of a larger facility to worship in.
On January 18, 1970, the Lord blessed us with the new facility where we had our first worship service; the same church that we worship in today.
We had many trials to face through the years and we have overcome those trials through faith, praying together and staying together. Through those trials our faith has been strengthened and we have seen the Lord bless our church over and over.
In 1980 we built and dedicated a new fellowship hall known as Clay Hall. It is not only used as a fellowship hall, but also for Junior Church, Sunday School, and Special Class. Soon, we outgrew Clay Hall and built a new building which was dedicated as the Jim Hendrickson Building, which is now being renovated.
As we look forward to the future for our church, we are confident that the blessings of God will remain upon our church if we continue to reach out to lost souls and seek to edify the body of Christ until He returns.
