"And as it appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement" (Hebrews 9:27).

Listen Sir or Lady:

I don't have time to sugar coat what I am about to say, therefore, I'll just tell it like it is- One day you are going to die. Just as sure as you're reading these words, one day your heart will stop beating, and your lungs will stop breathing. You are going to die. What then, sir? What then, dear lady? There is no purgatory. There is no reincarnation. And you will not cease to exist. What will happen next is simply this: your soul will go to either Heaven or Hell.

The Bible tells us that God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27). Since God is a trinity, and man was created in God's image, man is therefore a triune being; consisting of body, soul and spirit [Read: I Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:12]. When a person dies their spiritual body [soul and spirit] departs from the physical body (James 2:26; I Kings 17:17-22). The body is then buried or cremated, but the soul of man lives on.

"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead" (Luke 16:19-31).

Before the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the departed souls of all the dead went to a place the Bible calls Hell. At that time, Hell was divided into two different parts. One side was where the departed souls of the righteous went at death. This side was called "Abraham's Bosom" and "Paradise." The other side of Hell is where the departed souls of the wicked went at death, and it is called "a place of Torments."

According to the Bible, Hell is in the center of the earth (Matthew 12:38-40). When Jesus died on the cross, His soul went to the Paradise side of Hell where He preached to the spirits imprisoned there (I Peter 3:18-19).

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Paradise side of Hell was moved from the center of the earth to a place the Bible calls the THIRD HEAVEN [Read Ephesians 4:8-10 and II Corinthians 12:2-4]. Today, when a Christian dies, their soul is immediately taken to Heaven, while the souls of lost men and women go immediately to Hell, where they suffer forever in the unquenchable flames of the Burning Hell [Matthew 5:21-22; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:23-24; Revelation 20:15].

HELL IS REAL

Hell may not be a politically correct topic these days, and most people don't like to hear about it, but I'm here to tell you that if Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, you are on your way to a literal Hell that burns with unquenchable fire and brimstone. Here are some links that will tell you more about Hell:

Hell is Real

The Biblical Description of Hell

The Truth About Hell

Hell exists. It is a real place of agony and suffering. And once one is in hell, it is forever. If we use all of these descriptions of hell to make a mental image of the eternal place of punishment, it is hard to imagine why anyone would risk going there. Why would anyone risk such endless torment when God has provided a way to avoid it-through the blood of His only Son, Jesus?
HOW TO BE SAVED

The Roman Road is a collection of verses in Paul’s Epistle to the Romans that offers a clear and structured path to Jesus Christ. Although many people believe they will go to heaven because they have lived a good life, done charity work, been baptized as a child, attended church, or treated others fairly, the Bible declares that none of us can live up to God’s standards of righteousness. Therefore, we need a road to God that doesn’t rely on anything we do, but rather, relies on the gift of His grace alone.

1. THE PROBLEM

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

2. THE RESULT

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

3. THE DIVINE SOLUTION

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

4. OUR PART

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
