Fellowship of Christian Home Educators, of North Mississippi

Fellowship -- We meet the first Thursday of each month in each others homes or designated location. We enjoy the friendships made through our membership within this group. Through scheduled field trips our children also enjoy the fellowship of other home educated children.  It is our desire to glorify God in every event we attend.
Christian --  More than friends, we are sisters in Christ!  Truly, our fellowship is in the Lord!  May God bless our fellowships, that we may glorify Him in all we do and say.
Home --  Ordained and sustained by God as the first and only institution for rearing children, we view our vocation of wife and mother as a very high calling.  Home is our base from which we explore God's world, discover His character and search out knowledge, understanding and wisdom from above.  By His Grace, our monthly FOCHE gathering often gives us a fresh view of our priorities as women of God and strengths us in our right pursuit of them.
Educators --  Home schooling our children, we believe, is the best education our children can receive. Through Fellowship of Christian Home Educators we are able to glean from each other what has worked, what didn't work, learn new ways to do old things as well as learning of new educational topics and opportunities.  God is so good!
In Him,
Laura Matlock

Mission Statement

Fellowship of Christian Home Educators (FOCHE) is a support group composed of Christian mothers in the Northern Mississippi area that have chosen to educate their children at home.  FOCHE exists to provide loving encouragement and edification to home-educating mothers for the benefit of their families.

The original and ongoing purpose of the Fellowship of Christian Home Educators (FOCHE) is to promote quality home education by providing Christian support and encouragement to mothers educating their children at home.

Members are required to sign a Christian statement of faith.  Individuals assuming a leadership role must be professing and practicing Christians, as well as meet the other requirements for leadership outlined in a separate document.

Membership in FOCHE is obtained by attending a meeting, completing a membership questionnaire, signing a membership statement of faith and commitment to uphold FOCHE standards.   A membership list is distributed each fall to facilitate communication between members. New members are always welcome and can be added later.  Monthly communication in the form of an email newsletter is sent to each member by the Secretary.  If printed newsletters are preferred to e-newsletters, Self Addressed Stamped Envelopes (SASEs) may be submitted to the Secretary along with a request.

New members are received at any time.

FOCHE meets at 6:30pm the first Thursday of each month of the school year for a Moms' meeting in a members home or designated location.  This meeting time is for support and rejuvenation of the Mothers.  Our particular support group is designed to meet the needs of moms in an environment which allows them to share their hearts and be encouraged by their Sisters in Christ.
