JESUS, THE HEALER FOR AN AGE IN NEED OF HEALING

FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY; PLAN FOR PERFECTION

Read on, and see what this means for you! It's tremendously exciting.

The Church Body in a locality is used to express the life of the Body, and the

gifts in the Church Body are used to express the ministry of its members.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM OF FUNCTION

INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM OF FUNCTION WITH CORPORATE RESPONSIBLITY

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.

                                                                                                            John 15:12-14.

Eph 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Eph 4:14  That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Eph 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:

Eph 4:16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

                                                                        Ephesians 4:11 - 16. [King James Version]

1Co 12:4  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

1Co 12:5  And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

1Co 12:6  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

1Co 12:7  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

                                                                        1 Corinthians 12:4 - 7. [King James Version]

The clearest exposition for the verse above and below is found in the Amplified Bible.

(However, it is advisable to read the whole of 1 Corinthians 12, and Romans 12.)

Now if we consider and study the Godhead in the Scriptures we find exactly the same pattern: -

God the Father is always only in the function of the Father.

God the Son is always only in the function of the Son.

God the Holy Spirit is always only in the function of the Holy Spirit.

Diversity flowing in complete and utter unity.

Obviously, then we are told by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, through Paul that the same pattern is

wanted for us: -

Diversity flowing in complete and utter unity.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood; you have no life in you.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father,

so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Our forefathers ate [manna] and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live for ever."

                                                                         John 6:53-58. [New International Version]

This verse sums up the incredible importance of the COVENANT MEETING which will be explained more

fully below and further on ; and why there is a need for this to be shared with us, by someone who has an

apostolic anointing and ministry, to provide us with the spirit and truth of what covenants are all about.

So lets look at who an Apostle is – guided by the scriptures in the Bible: -

The APOSTLE – [Special messengers]

should `initially' have major input into this area in terms of

`equipping the saints to do the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body [the church].'

                                                             [Ephesians 4:12] [New International Version]]

APOSTLE---[Special messenger]

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM/FUNCTION

An apostle meets effectiveness needs

***An apostle is only ever described as `special messenger'.

There is absolutely no mention of `I will set myself above'!

The function of special messenger is rooted in years of intimate knowledge, dearly bought experience

and intensive training. Implied in this function is the commission to witness by the Holy Spirit, whose

witness it is, by word and sign, to the risen Jesus Christ and His completed Work.

The essential quality displayed is the one `did not think that Glory was something to be grasped, but

made Himself as nothing `to redeem mankind.'

*Apostleship is a function/responsibility and has nothing to do with status -only service. God gives the

grace and the ability required to those he sends.

Special Messenger is in the sense of the Jesus’s messages to the seven churches of

Revelation 1:20 – 3;22 [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

the secret of the seven stars that thou hast seen upon my right hand, and the seven golden lamp-stands: the seven stars are messengers of the seven assemblies, and the seven lamp-stands that thou hast seen are seven assemblies.

`To the messenger of the Ephesian assembly write: These things saith he who is holding the seven stars in his right hand, who is walking in the midst of the seven lamp-stands--the golden:

I have known thy works, and thy labour, and thy endurance, and that thou art not able to bear evil ones, and that thou hast tried those saying themselves to be apostles and are not, and hast found them liars,

and thou didst bear, and hast endurance, and because of my name hast toiled, and hast not been weary.

`But I have against thee: That thy first love thou didst leave!

remember, then, whence thou hast fallen, and reform, and the first works do; and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lamp-stand from its place--if thou mayest not reform;

but this thou hast, that thou dost hate the works of the Nicolaitans, that I also hate.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming--I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God.

`And to the messenger of the assembly of the Smyrneans write: These things saith the First and the Last, who did become dead and did live;

I have known thy works, and tribulation, and poverty--yet thou art rich--and the evil-speaking of those saying themselves to be Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of the Adversary.

`Be not afraid of the things that thou art about to suffer; lo, the devil is about to cast of you to prison, that ye may be tried, and ye shall have tribulation ten days; become thou faithful unto death, and I will give to thee the crown of the life.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: He who is overcoming may not be injured of the second death.

`And to the messenger of the assembly in Pergamos write: These things saith he who is having the sharp two-edged sword:

I have known thy works, and where thou dost dwell--where the throne of the Adversary is --and thou dost hold fast my name, and thou didst not deny my faith, even in the days in which Antipas was my faithful witness, who was put to death beside you, where the Adversary doth dwell.

`But I have against thee a few things: That thou hast there those holding the teaching of Balaam, who did teach Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol-sacrifices, and to commit whoredom;

so hast thou, even thou, those holding the teaching of the Nicolaitans--which thing I hate.

Reform! and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming, I will give to him to eat from the hidden manna, and will give to him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, that no one knew except him who is receiving it .

`And to the messenger of the assembly of Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who is having his eyes as a flame of fire, and his feet like to fine brass;

I have known thy works, and love, and ministration, and faith, and thy endurance, and thy works--and the last are more than the first.

`But I have against thee a few things: That thou dost suffer the woman Jezebel, who is calling herself a prophetess, to teach, and to lead astray, my servants to commit whoredom, and idol-sacrifices to eat;

and I did give to her a time that she might reform from her whoredom, and she did not reform;

lo, I will cast her into a couch, and those committing adultery with her into great tribulation--if they may not repent of their works, and her children I will kill in death, and know shall all the assemblies that I am he who is searching reins and hearts; and I will give to you--to each--according to your works.

`And to you I say, and to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, and who did not know the depths of the Adversary, as they say; I will not put upon you other burden;

but that which ye have--hold ye, till I may come;

and he who is overcoming, and who is keeping unto the end my works, I will give to him authority over the nations,

and he shall rule them with a rod of iron--as the vessels of the potter they shall be broken--as I also have received from my Father; and I will give to him the morning star.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies.

And to the messenger of the assembly in Sardis write: These things saith he who is having the Seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars:

I have known thy works, and that thou hast the name that thou dost live, and thou art dead;

become watching, and strengthen the rest of the things that are about to die, for I have not found thy works fulfilled before God.

`Remember, then, how thou hast received, and heard, and be keeping, and reform: if, then, thou mayest not watch, I will come upon thee as a thief, and thou mayest not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis who did not defile their garments, and they shall walk with me in white, because they are worthy.

He who is overcoming--this one--shall be arrayed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the scroll of the life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before His messengers.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies.

`And to the messenger of the assembly in Philadelphia write: These things saith he who is holy, he who is true, he who is having the key of David, he who is opening and no one doth shut, and he shutteth and no one doth open!

have known thy works; lo, I have set before thee a door--opened, and no one is able to shut it, because thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name;

lo, I make of the synagogue of the Adversary those saying themselves to be Jews, and are not, but do lie; lo, I will make them that they may come and bow before thy feet, and may know that I loved thee.

`Because thou didst keep the word of my endurance, I also will keep thee from the hour of the trial that is about to come upon all the world, to try those dwelling upon the earth.

Lo, I come quickly, be holding fast that which thou hast, that no one may receive thy crown.

He who is overcoming--I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and without he may not go any more, and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, that doth come down out of the heaven from my God--also my new name.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies.

`And to the messenger of the assembly of the Laodiceans write: These things saith the Amen, the witness--the faithful and true--the chief of the creation of God;

I have known thy works, that neither cold art thou nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot.

So--because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to vomit thee out of my mouth;

because thou sayest--I am rich, and have grown rich, and have need of nothing, and hast not known that thou art the wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked,

I counsel thee to buy from me gold fired by fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white garments that thou mayest be arrayed, and the shame of thy nakedness may not be manifest, and with eye-salve anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.

`As many as I love, I do convict and chasten; be zealous, then, and reform;

lo, I have stood at the door, and I knock; if any one may hear my voice, and may open the door, I will come in unto him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

He who is overcoming--I will give to him to sit with me in my throne, as I also did overcome and did sit down with my Father in His throne.

He who is having an ear--let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies.'

where Jesus imprints upon the heart of that ‘messenger’ the vision that Jesus has for His Church in that particular place or that particular time or even in terms of the Universal Church.

The seal of an Apostle is fathered sons [bringing the four ministries and the believers of all descriptions to spiritual maturity]

.....For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

[1 Corinthians 9:2] [New International Version]

The signs of an Apostle are

[1] Patience

I know a man who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven.

[2 Corinthians 12:12] [New International Version]

[2] Humility

To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations

[2 Corinthians 12:7] [New International Version]

 [3] Signs/wonders/miracles

The Apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people.

                                                                        [Acts 5:12] [New International Version]

*What an Apostle does

[1] appoint elders in every town

The reason I left you in Crete was that you might straighten out what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I

directed you.

                                                                        [Titus 1:5] [New International Version]

[2] Can be an elder

To the elders among you I appeal as a fellow elder

[1 Peter 5:1] [New International Version]

[3] Teaches Apostles doctrine

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching

                                                                        [Acts 2:42] [New International Version]

[4] Takes captive false doctrine

.....so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer nor to devote themselves to myths and

endless genealogies

[1 Timothy 1:3] [New International Version]

[5] Rebukes/corrects the rebellious

This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so they will be sound in the faith.....

                                                            [Titus 1:13] [New International Version]

[6] Is gentle with the flock

We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your

endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ

[1 Thessalonians 1:7] [New International Version]

***        [a] The motivation gift of the Apostle is to coordinate the activities of others for the

achievement of common goals. A gift, which gives direction by working with and through others.

***        [b] The Apostle has the gift of `maintaining' the church by making things easier for others.

***        [c] The Apostle helps the body define and carry out its goals and tasks by enabling direction

and support. A gift, which has the capability to see the overall picture and to clarify

              long-range goals.

***        [d] Has a drive to complete the task and understand how to delegate and who will do the job

well. The Apostle has their fulfilment in seeing all the pieces coming together; and knowing that

              others enjoy the finished product.

***        [e] The Apostle has a desire to move on to a new challenge when the last one is completed.

***        [f] The Apostle is specially commissioned by God to:

Founds churches through the preaching of the Gospel:

Bring revelation from God to His people:

Give decisions in matters pertaining to doctrine & government:

Edify the saints & distribute the gifts.

Spiritually & geographically the Apostle’s sphere is vast - being sent by God to exercise gifts of

            ministry in different places.

***       The Apostle has a special zeal for the cause of God's people.

“When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before God in heaven.”

                                                                        [Nehemiah 1:4] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle has the ability to sense the overall problems and survey the needs.

I set out during the night with a few men. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem. .....so I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally I turned back and re-entered through the Valley Gate.

[Nehemiah 2:12, 15] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle knows that he cannot do the work alone; and that he needs the other ministries

to complete the work.

The officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, because as yet I had said nothing to the Jews or the priests or nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work. Then I said to them, "You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace." I also told them about the gracious hand of my God upon me and what the king had said to me.

                                                            [Nehemiah 2:16-18] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle has a sense of timing and knows the length of time required to achieve the completion of a project.

Then the king, with the queen sitting beside him, asked me, "How long will your journey take, and when will you get back?" It pleased the king to send me so I set a time.

                                                            [Nehemiah 2:6] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle has the ability to organise both human and material resources.

And may I have a letter to Asaph, keeper of the king's forest, so he will give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple and for the city wall and for the residence I will occupy?" And because the gracious hand of God was upon me, the king granted my requests

                                                             [Nehemiah 2:8] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle is able to handle and proceed under opposition.

When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews,.....    After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight.......

[Nehemiah 4:1, 14] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle is strong enough spiritually to deal with disorder in the ministries.

When I heard their outcry and these charges, I was very angry. I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them, "You are exacting usury from your own countrymen!"   So I continued, "What you are doing is not right. Shouldn't you walk in fear of God........?

[Nehemiah 5:6, 9] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle has the gift to lighten burdens for others and is not a personal burden themselves.

.....But out of reverence for God I did not act like that. Instead, I devoted myself to the work on this wall.....

                                                                         [Nehemiah 5:14-19]. [New International Version]

***        The Apostle has the gift of delegating authority and can sense the best person for a specific

function.

After the wall had been rebuilt and I had set the doors in place, the gatekeepers and the singers and the Levites were appointed. I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most men do.

                                                            [Nehemiah 7:1-2.] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle has first function or input in the Church universal; and thus are a foundation

ministry. An Apostle is a wise master builder who is called to lay a foundation that other ministries are able to build upon.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each should be careful how he builds.

[1 Corinthians 3:10]. [New International Version]

There is no other foundation to lay except Jesus Christ! An Apostle receives a

particular revelation from God to equip him in his ministry to the saints. They

will build up and strengthen the saints in their relationship with God.

Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening.

[2 Corinthians 12:19] [New International Version]

***        The Apostle guides ministries and saints into the Will of God and the outworking of God’s

will. The Apostle helps engender the spirit of Unity flowing out from the Godhead into the body of

the church. His anointing will get elders working together in unity.

The Apostle's chief passion is to reach people with the call of God. He will father sons, [guide the

young people, both physically and spiritually in the Body of Christ and disciple and encourage these

sons, and so raise up leadership and five fold ministry in the church. His main ministry is to the elders

and the sons he is raising up. For this reason it is important to have 5-fold ministry to provide balance

in the church for the saints.

***        Apostleship is a function/responsibility and has nothing to do with status - only service. God

gives the grace and the ability required to those he sends.

Paul was sent to several different churches.

[Ephesians 1:1, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to the saints who are in Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Galatians 1:1, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation

Paul, an apostle--not from men, nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who did raise him out of the dead--

1 Corinthians 1: [1898 Young’s Literal Translation

Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,

1, Colossians 1:1, etc. [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Timotheus the brother,

* Paul had oversight over these churches in the spirit. An Apostle plants churches or stays in one place

to train people.

I planted the seed, Apollo’s watered it, but God made it grow.

[1 Corinthians 3:6] [New International Version]

* The Apostle must have touched all the other ministries; although they would have been focused in a

particular ministry.

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts.

1 Corinthians 12:29-31 [New International Version]

Also

Ephesians 4:11, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

and He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as proclaimers of good news, and some as shepherds and teachers,

1 Timothy 3:4, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

his own house leading well, having children in subjection with all gravity,

Proverbs 16:32, 17:2, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

Better is the slow to anger than the mighty, And the ruler over his spirit than he who is taking a city.

A wise servant ruleth over a son causing shame, And in the midst of brethren He apportioneth an inheritance.

Mark 6:39-45, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

And he commanded them to make all recline in companies upon the green grass,

and they sat down in squares, by hundreds, and by fifties.

And having taken the five loaves and the two fishes, having looked up to the heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves, and was

giving to his disciples, that they may set before them, and the two fishes divided he to all, and they did all eat, and were filled,

and they took up of broken pieces twelve hand-baskets full, and of the fishes,

and those eating of the loaves were about five thousand men.

And immediately he constrained his disciples to go into the boat, and to go before to the other side, unto Bethsaida, till he may let

the multitude away,

John 6:12, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

And when they were filled, he saith to his disciples, `Gather together the broken pieces that are over, that nothing may be lost;'

1 Corinthians 12:28, [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

And some, indeed, did God set in the assembly, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, afterwards powers, afterwards

gifts of healings, helpings, governings, divers kinds of tongues;

Acts 2:43. [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

And fear came on every soul, many wonders also and signs were being done through the apostles,

Biblical example: 12 Apostles & Nehemiah.

The pattern in the Godhead is the Father, Who serves His Family by providing the Vision and Plan to

be worked out by Him in His function, and assisted by the rest of the family.

THUS THE APOSTLE’S FUNCTION IS TO HELP THE SAINTS THROUGHOUT THE BODY OF CHRIST GAIN

AN IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THE MEANING OF WHAT A COVENANT IS AND THE IMPACT THIS

HAS ON THE NEW COVENANT DEALT WITH IN THE MEETINGS HANDBOOKS. [Pages 5 through 9]

The Apostle should have major input into this area in terms of `equipping' the saints `to do the work

of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church).'

The Prophet sums up the incredible importance of the PRAYER MEETING; and need for this to be

shared with us by someone who has an prophetic anointing and ministry to provide us with the spirit

and truth of what prayer is all about.

So lets look at who a prophet is – guided by the scriptures in the Bible: -

The prophet spends much time in prayer and thus is of great help in these meetings.

PROPHET

[Inspired preacher and expounder]

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM/FUNCTION

The prophet-

Meets spiritual needs

Meets personal needs

Meets financial and material needs

The prophet Interprets the divine will and purpose, with inspired revelation, through inspired

preaching and expounding, as well as inspired teaching. However, there is a clear difference between

inspired teachings by revelation in the spur of the moment; as compared to the teacher's gift of

`clarifying’ truth and giving it structure and order.

The prophet has the motivation to reveal unrighteous motives or actions by presenting God's truth.

This is the message Jeremiah gave to the staff officer Seraiah son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went to Babylon with

Zedekiah king of Judah in the fourth year of his reign.

                                                                                                Jeremiah 51:59 [New international Version]

The gift of prophecy is available to every member of the body; however the `office' of the prophet,

which enables the prophet to speak for or as moved by the Holy Spirit & having received miraculous

power is expressed differently; because it is that persons mainstream ministry.

The prophet speaks for God as a man who has the power of the Holy Spirit in ordinary life. The prophet

has a need to express his message verbally; a need to speak out. He has a directness, frankness and

persuasiveness in speaking and need a dependence on scriptural truth to do this effectively.

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that

cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

                                                                        [Titus 2:7,8] [New international Version]

A prophet is concerned for the reputation and program of God.

In the New Testament a prophet still prophesies with miraculous power, but he no longer pronounces

God’s Will toward individuals. Instead they receive from God revelations pertaining to the future or

present situations pertaining to individuals – these being either for warning or for edification.

They should have the willingness to experience brokenness to prompt brokenness for the believer.

They have first function or input in the Church local; together with the apostle, for the restoration of

those portions of Jesus’ Body who for one reason or another have become dysfunctional. They are to

work ‘with’ the apostle to establish foundation and order in the local church.

I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love

don't for a moment escape God's notice.

                                                                           John 20:21    [1898 Young’s Literal Translation]

He can experience an inward weeping and personal identification with the sins of those he speaks to.

He wants people to see their blind spots - those aspects of their being that people are not aware of.

The prophet has first function or input in the church local; together with the Apostle, for the restoration

of those portions of Christ’s Body who for one reason or another have become dysfunctional. [- but this

has nothing to do with status - just service to meet the needs at that point.]

The apostle provides for doctrinal truth and the Prophet provides for Spirit. He is to work `with' the

apostle to establish foundation and order in the local church.

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth, for they are the kind of

worshippers the Father seeks. God is Spirit, and his worshippers must worship him in spirit and truth."

John 4:23, 24. [New international Version]

The prophet has insight, which enables him to declare truth. The prophet has the ability to "see' where

people or programs really are in terms of God's truth. The prophet has the motivation or desire to make

motives right, because he is gifted with a direct `intuitive' sense, which helps him to discern the inner

motives of people. The prophet sees people whose lives need to be straightened out; and he moves to

root sin out of the church.

A prophet attempting to minister alone will have the smallest and holiest church. He has the basic

tendency to view any person, group or situation in the paradigm of their life before God.

A prophet is to help with personal progress and provide encouragement. He has from God the ability to

encourage people to grow and meet successfully the experiences of life. He has the motivation to

stimulate the faith and personal growth of others. He has a desire for outward evidence to demonstrate

inward conviction, an outward evidence of change in people.

……………………………..all of these must be for the strengthening of the church.

1 Corinthians 14:25b [New international Version]

The prophet’s motivation is to entrust personal assets to others for the furtherance of their ministry.

To show the way in the special sharing of material assistance. The ability to handle and give assets,

and the motivation to see the needs of the work of God and the ministry of others go forward and succeed.

The prophet has the gift of "special sharing". When flowing properly, one always feels the strong support

flowing out of this gift, and is not gullible; the prophet has a perspicacity when and whom to help. [This gift

is not restricted to the wealthy; finances being only one concrete expression of this gift.]

The prophet has the capacity to identify, define and hate evil. A prophet will often be opposed and

persecuted in the fulfilling of their ministry.

Romans 12:9,13, 1 Timothy 3:7, Ephesians 4:11,15, 2:20, Acts 11:27-30, 13:1-4, 1 Corinthians 14:1,29,33, Luke 5:21,22, 6:38,

Matthew 10:8, 26-28, 16:19, John 10:28.

INTER-ACTIVE MINISTRY

Prophets tend to be loners, and find it difficult to accept team ministry.

The complimentary ministry for a prophet is the pastor, but the prophet is inclined to see only black and

white in everything, so he struggles with the pastor's ministry, which has so many shades of grey. A

pastors motivation is one of love, which will tend to look over and past sin, and whose anointing is to

minister to `wounded soldiers' whilst the prophet wishes to root out sin.

The prophet also finds evangelists too loose, but prophets need to understand that evangelists have a

different anointing to theirs.

The prophet finds the teacher too hide-bound and confining.

The prophet/pastor and prophet/evangelist combinations don't like ministering together, mainly because

they often don't understand one another. However, they all need to capture each other’s spirit; which is

required for balance in ministry.

The prophet’s frankness may sometime be viewed as harshness. For a prophet’s ministry to succeed it

must be balanced with equal quantities of love. A prophet’s interest in groups may be misinterpreted

as lack of interest in individuals, and his strong desire to convey truth may be interpreted as having

little interest in listening to another person's point of view. Focus on right and wrong may be judged as

intolerance of only partial good. It is well to remember that the Word explains that “we will be judged by

the same standards that we apply.”

The prophet often seems to have the ability to make money, and tend to make wise purchases and

investments, and he enjoys encouraging others to give.

The prophet will want to meet the needs, without pressure, that others overlook, and are concerned that

his gifts be of high quality; and he normally wants to be a part of the work or person to whom he gives.

All the above and their emphasis on strict standards and public boldness, could make it difficult for them

to have close friends.

A prophet usually has somewhat of a “driver” temperament, sees everything as black and white; no

shades of grey. He is hot, quick, active, practical and strong-willed, decisive and opinionated, dogged

determination, intuitive, so does not recognize the obstacles and pitfalls in the path. Crusader.

Extrovert, doer and optimist.

Biblical type = Paul & John the Baptist.

The pattern in the Godhead is the Son, Who speaks and takes part in actions to bring about the Will of

the Father, and acts always in the interests of the family.

The Prophet should have major input into this area in terms of equipping the saints to do the work of

ministering toward building up Christ's body (the Church).

The Pastor sums up the incredible importance of the WORSHIP MEETING; and need for this to be

shared with us by someone who has a pastoral anointing and ministry to provide us with the spirit

and truth of what worship is all about.

So lets look at who a Pastor is – guided by the scriptures in the Bible: -

PASTOR

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM/FUNCTION

Meets sympathetic and emotional needs

Meets practical needs

*** Shepherd of Jesus flock. They will guard and watch over the flock. The motivation to demonstrate

love by meeting practical needs. Their gift flows best through deeds rather than words. They seem to

`see' what needs to be done and are gifted with their hands and equipped with physical stamina and

a disregard for weariness. They enjoy manual projects and will work until finished. They want to meet

the needs quickly and will even use personal funds to avoid delays. They want to see a job done, so

will do much extra work.

However they must guard against in getting involved in excess activity, as they find it difficult to say no.

They are people who `feel' a great deal. This gift encompasses compassion, pity, gentleness and

forbearance; with the aim of helping people by empathizing with them and doing good things with them.

Their special gift to `feel' or sense where people are and to reach out in a supportive or compassionate

way. Like the giving gift, people with this gift of mercy are quick to detect insincerity; their spirit is closed

to the insensitive or hard-hearted. Their gift of mercy is compassion in action.

They are concerned with demonstrating love by meeting practical needs and rendering assistance. Are

able to identify with and comfort those who are in distress. The ability to see and do things that need

to be done; and quickly learn specific likes and dislikes of people, and can recall them. They need and

give sincere appreciation. They can `feel' joy or depression in an individual or group; and have an

attraction to and understanding of people in distress. They want to remove hurts and bring healing to

others; attend to the `wounded soldiers.'

They have a greater concern for mental distress than physical distress, and are sensitive to words and

actions that will hurt others. They avoid firmness unless they can see how it will bring benefit. They have

enjoyment and unity with those who are sensitive to peoples needs.

They see people to love; and do everything to bind up their wounds. Pastors are people persons, and are

less concerned about preaching. They want to spend all their time with people, but need to spend time

with the Word. They prefer short-range goals because they are not usually organisers and can experience

frustration over long-range goals. They can also feel frustrated when limitations of time are attached to jobs.

They make tremendous counsellors, and are always positive, and meet needs with loving and counselling.

Ephesians 4:11, John 10:16, 21:16, Luke 7:13, 10:30-37, Matthew 9:36, 1 Peter 2:25, 5:2,3,4, Psalm 23:1, 2, Isaiah 40:11, John 10:11,

Hebrews 13:20.

INTER-ACTIVE MINISTRY

They have the anointing to bring stability to a church; and to reduce problems within the body of Christ.

Love covers a multitude of sins, and people will forgive their weaknesses.

They won't initially understand the need for a prophet, and will be worried how the prophet speaks to the

flock, because avoidance of firmness may appear as weakness and indecisiveness.

Sensitivity to the spirit and the feelings of others make them appear to be guided by emotion instead of

logic. Attraction and understanding of those in distress may be misinterpreted by the opposite sex;

sensitivity to words and actions that cause hurt may also appear to be taking up another’s offence. Their

ability to detect insincere motives may also cause some to feel he is hard to get to know.

Their desire to help can interfere with God's dealings in the lives of others, if they operate by themselves;

they may get sidetracked with others needs, and miss God’s dealings.

Sometimes can seem unspiritual because they concentrate on the practical needs of people. They need

to capture the cheerful spirit of the evangelist, because people with this gift may easily repress their feelings,

especially men. They have a tendency if unguarded, to turn inward and become depressed.

Since they can `feel' deeply, they can easily be hurt; their gift prohibits them from being "tough". When

their gift is not operating properly, they may let their feelings build up until they lash out in momentary

anger, or repress their feelings and grieve inwardly.

Usually has somewhat of an amiable temperament, and life is mostly about shades of grey, and looks

after the wounded soldiers, is kind-hearted and sympathetic. When aroused to action, can be a most

capable and efficient person.

Biblical type = Abraham, Martha & the good Samaritan.

The pattern in the Godhead is the Holy Spirit, Who is our Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate,

Strengthener, Standby.

The Evangelist sums up the incredible importance of the GOOD NEWS MEETING; and need for

this to be shared with us by someone who has an apostolic anointing and ministry to provide us with

the spirit and truth of what Good News is all about.

So lets look at who an evangelist is – guided by the scriptures in the Bible: -

EVANGELIST

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM/FUNCTION

Meets sympathetic and emotional needs.

Meets personal needs

*** Preachers of the Gospel - travelling missionaries. They are anointed to bring repentance to

people through presenting the goodness of God by means of the Good News of the Gospel. Has the

motivation to stimulate the faith of others.

".....But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself."

                                                                                                               John 12:32

Apart from their travelling ministry they are also needed in the local church, as they are a motivating

force in the church. They will inspire others to care about the lost, too. An evangelist will put life and

excitement into his sharing of the Good News. They will encourage personal evangelism and not be

too concerned about doctrine.

They have the ability to feel where people are and identify with their need. The motivation to identify

with and to relieve those who are in distress, such as sinners in a crowd, and will cry and pray a lot

for the lost.

They want the full interest and attention of the listener, because the focus of their gift is - PEOPLE.

They love people, and like teaching that is practical, needing to see visible acceptance when they talk

to people, and seeing them take steps of action.

They have the capability to encourage people to grow, and have the desire to meet successfully the

experiences of life. The motivation to stimulate faith, and the personal growth of others. A strong, life

related gift that tends to centre on actual experience of life. They delight in personal conferences that

produce new insights.

They tend to regard truth as truth, whether it comes from the Bible or experience, and they want to

confirm the truth of the bible with actual experience, and can see how tribulation or trouble could produce

new levels of maturity. They have to guard against the emphasis on steps of action producing a feeling

that the feelings of the person are being disregarded, at this point.

Ephesians 4:11, Hebrews 3:13, 10:25, Luke 8:50, John 8:3-11, Acts 21:8, 2 Timothy 4:5.

INTER-ACTIVE MINISTRY

An evangelist will birth a church, but cannot bring the people within the church to maturity. They must

work with an apostle who is anointed to raise up leaders in the local church. Acts 8:5-14 shows that

when Philip the evangelist had success in Samaria, that the apostles Peter and John were sent there to

help Philip establish a church.

Evangelists deliver babies but cannot feed them properly. An evangelist working alone will think he is a

failure because he is losing a lot of people and can't hold a big church. The person he needs most is a

teacher to feed his flock and a pastor to guide and love them. The last person an evangelist likes to work

with is a teacher; he thinks they are too bookish and uncaring.

They, like the prophets, have a tendency to be loners, and find it difficult to accept team ministry. They

need, like the other ministries, to function as part of a corporate team to achieve balance in their ministry.

If they do not function connected to a local church, then the people saved, will have nobody to help them

to grow spiritually once the evangelist has left.

Usually has somewhat of an expressive temperament, and is not overly concerned with fine detail. Is

able to relate to the world's problems. Extrovert, talkative and optimistic and appealing. Freewheeling

and enthusiastic and inspires others to join.

Biblical type = Peter & Barnabas.

The pattern in the Godhead is the Son, Who speaks and takes part in actions to bring about the Will of

the Father, and acts always in the interests of the family.

The Evangelist should have major input into this area in terms of equipping the saints to do the work of

The Teacher sums up the incredible importance of the BIBLE STUDY MEETING; and need for this to be

shared with us by someone who has an Teacher anointing and ministry to provide us with the spirit and

truth of what Bible Studies are all about.

So lets look at who a Teacher – guided by the scriptures in the Bible: -

The Teacher should have major input into this area in terms of `equipping' the saints `to do the work

of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church).'

READ AND INTERNALISE ROMANS 7:4 TO 8:39

And to look at what the Teacher brings to Bible Study -

TEACHER

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM/FUNCTION

Meets mental needs

*** They have the role of clarifying truth for the purposes of indoctrination in God's Word and His

commandments, and is the way we recognize that somebody is gifted as a teacher. They open their

mouths and automatically make the truth clearer. If people just explain the truth, that does not

make them a 5-fold Teacher. 5-fold Teachers have the ability to impart knowledge and lead others

into revealed truth.

Teachers are indispensable to the Body of Christ, as they provide the ammunition with which the other

ministries can wage their war against evil with greater success.

And a certain Jew, Apollos by name, an Alexandrian by birth, a man of eloquence, being

mighty in the Writings, came to Ephesus,

this one was instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in the Spirit, was speaking

and teaching exactly the things about the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John;

this one also began to speak boldly in the synagogue, and Aquilas and Priscilla having heard

of him, took him to them , and did more exactly expound to him the way of God,

and he being minded to go through into Achaia, the brethren wrote to the disciples, having

exhorted them to receive him, who having come, did help them much who have believed

through the grace, for powerfully the Jews he was refuting publicly, shewing through the

Writings Jesus to be the Christ.

                                                                                                    Acts !8:24 – 28 [Young’s Literal translation]

Theirs is very much a ministry of `watering' rather than `planting'.

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was giving growth;,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

                                                                        1 Corinthians 3:6[New International Version]

They have the motivation to search out and validate truth that has been presented. Teachers love to

read and study and place great emphasis on the accuracy of facts and words, if this is not the case

the people are just explainers. They are described as being `logios' which means `given to words,

learned or eloquent' [Acts 18:24] They enjoy research, and get more joy in doing the research than in

giving the material; and use it to validate truth and to test the material that is being presented.

The teachers’ normal position is with his nose in a book. The calling on his life will cause him to study

80% of his time. They would rather be in their books than with people in their free time.

They see empty heads to fill, and love presenting truth in a systemic way; and will avoid using

non-biblical illustrations, and will resist scripture taken out of context. People will remember the

teaching of a teacher, even if they don't like it; it will be written on the persons heart and mind

by the Holy Spirit.

Teachers have the gift of grace that helps its possessors to understand the teaching of God's Word,

and to discern His purposes, and thus equips them to instruct His people in doctrinal matters. They

will teach sound doctrine that will release the working of God, when people act on what they hear.

Teachers are able to help; as they are able to see inaccuracies of statements and conclusions that

have been made; but they must not appear to lack warmth and feeling when they speak.

They will tend to turn the church into a school. If not balanced by the other ministries; their church

will sooner or later turn into fat cats steeped in the Word, depending on the skill of the teacher. This

could take between 3-7 yrs. When this happens, this is a crisis situation, as peoples other needs are

not being met. They will leave and the teacher will not understand why - he will feel rejection and guilt;

and this can all be avoided by the having the balance of the 5-fold ministry.

1 Corinthians 12:8, Colossians 3:16, Matthew 28:20, 1 Timothy 3:2, 2 Timothy 2:2, 24, Luke 4:31,32, Matthew 5:2.

INTER-ACTIVE MINISTRY

Their ministry follows on from the Apostles, prophets & evangelists in order to lay a foundation of the

`Word'. Unless balanced by the other ministries, emphasis on scriptural illustrations and interpretation

can neglect its practical application. Research can make them appear dependent on books than on the

teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The teacher should enjoy the fruits of the evangelist’s ministry; along with the evangelist, because this

ministry brings in new souls for him to teach.

Teachers, who are not team orientated, would not choose an evangelist to co-operate with, as their

ministries operate at opposite ends of the spectrum. Teachers who do not understand the functions of

inter-active ministry would be tempted to regard evangelists as flashy, loud and not knowledgeable, as

these people often feel that details of research may appear unnecessary to the listeners.

Teachers need pastors to stabilise the flock; and they need prophets to bring the anointing of the spirit

to the people.

Usually has a sensitive/analytical temperament, self-sacrificing, gifted, perfectionist. The introvert,

thinker, creative, very high standards, sensitive to others.

Biblical type = Moses & Apollos.

The pattern in the Godhead is the Holy Spirit, Who will teach you all things. Who will cause us to recall

- will remind us of, bring to our remembrance - everything God has told us.

The Teacher should have major input into this area in terms of `equipping' the saints `to do the work

of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church).'

The five-fold ministry is a gift of Jesus to the church [Ephesians 4:8, 11] for the purpose of: -

`The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devils work'

                                                                                            1 John 3:8b.

There are five different anointing’s and when they flow properly there will be order in the local church.

If the local church does not recognize and apply the anointing’s, the church will not be edified. In fact,

if the subject is well considered; it is in fact impossible to institute in a Church with the above structure.

There is an inherent flaw in the above structure [i.e. the graphic illustration] as it contains the possibility of

`I will set myself above'!

`Behold how good and pleasant it is for the brethren to dwell in unity. It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down the beard.'

                                                                                                             Psalm 133:1, 2.

The only structure possible to institute the Five-fold ministry is one where God the Father gives direction,

God the Son administrates, and God the Holy Spirit provides the anointing to accomplish the Wwork directly

to and through the believers and ministries.

When there is mutuality of flow in inspiration, and where events etc. are confirmed on the `church ground', it

is clearly evident that the Hand of God is guiding everything.

The early church had the full five-fold ministry operating and started off with Apostles trained by Jesus.

[Acts 1:2] In the course of time the old problems of `religions' crept in: -

* Mind set from the past

There is a resistance in people to restoration of God's direct contact with His people. New truths and

revelations of God always challenge the old order; people become comfortable in the old order and

resist change.

* Natural ability

This has been relied on in ministering to people e.g. oratory ability, resulting in preaching etc. little

above the level of philosophy, recycling the same material over and over again. God has been and is

now moving the church into a new dimension of ministry with signs and wonders. Total obedience

and dependence on the working of the Holy Spirit has and will result in great rewards in this move.

* Position consciousness

The church structure has been built by men to be more rewarding at the top. A ladder of success has

often resulted in competition and wrong motivation. Pride of place or position has caused men to be

raised up to be seen as small gods. Jesus said `If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last,

and the servant of all. [Mark 9:35.] Thus it is all about responsibility and function in the church not status.

The system of voting for a new pastor results in division among the church believers even before the

minister arrives.

The Apostle, according to the scripture, is anointed by God to raise up leadership in the local church. In

the past, on many occasions, people have set themselves above the flock without meeting the needs of

the people. People have been impressed by intellectual knowledge of the scripture `theology’, rather than

life given power released by the Holy Spirit upon preaching of the word.

The church is moving into a new dimension of team ministry where the five-fold ministry flows together

as a team, with the supportive ministries joining in.

Spiritual growth of the saints can reach the proportions of Christhood according to the word of God in

this environment, and this becomes completely clear in the Amplified Bible in Ephesians 4:11 through 16.

Thus, there will also be less burden and pressure on the leadership; with all believers getting the

opportunity to move into leadership as they `earn their stripes'.--- `Faithful in a few, faithful in many.`

For the sake of clarity let's have some definitions so that we are talking the same language.

TEMPERAMENT

* Is the combination of inborn traits that sub-consciously affect man's behaviour.

And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

                                                                                                            Romans 8:27.

CHARACTER

* Is the result of your natural temperament `modified' by childhood training, education, beliefs,

principles and others basic attitudes or motivations.

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance,

character; and character, hope.

                                                                                                            Romans 5:3.

PERSONALITY

* The outward expression of ourselves, which may or may not be the same as our character depending

on how genuine we are.

Evident in various biblical personalities are the following: -

MINISTRY GIFTING

* Ministry of practical service in love.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.

                                                                                                            Romans 12:6.

SPIRITUAL MOTIVATIONAL GIFTING

* Motivational ministry of practical service in love.

There are different kinds of working, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different

kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

                                                                                                1Corinthians 12:4, 5, 6.

SUPERNATURAL GIFTINGS

* The evidence of the spiritual illumination of the Spirit in love for good and profit.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

                                                                                                1 Corinthians 12:7, etc.

Without five-fold ministry it is impossible for spiritually mature elders, deacons and believers to be

raised up in the Church Body. Raised up by the function of the five-fold ministry, these people are far

more effective, and as the church becomes more mature, the saints will take God's Love through

ministry to the world.

Five-fold ministry will also solve another problem of lack of identity and passivity in the local church and the Body

of Christ. Many people find themselves in this position: -

FABLE FOR SCHOOL

Once upon a time, the animals decided they must do something heroic to meet the problems of `a new world'. So

they organised a school.

They adopted an activity curriculum consisting of running, climbing, swimming and flying. To make it easier to

administer the curriculum, ALL animals took ALL the subjects.

The DUCK was excellent in swimming, in fact better than his instructor, but he only made passing grades in

flying and was very poor in running. Since he was slow in running, he had to stay after school and also drop

swimming in order to practise running. This kept up until his web feet were badly worn and he was only

average in swimming. BUT AVERAGE WAS ACCEPTABLE IN SCHOOL, SO NOBODY WORRIED ABOUT THAT

EXCEPT THE DUCK.

The RABBIT started at the top of the class in running, but had a nervous breakdown because of so much

make-up work in swimming.

The squirrel was excellent in climbing until he developed frustration in the flying class, where his teacher

made him from the ground up instead of from the treetop down. He also developed "Charlie Horse' from

over-exertion and got 'C' in climbing and `D' in running.

The EAGLE was a problem child and was disciplined severely. In the climbing class he beat all others to the

top of the tree, but insisted on using his own way to get there.

At the end of the year, an abnormal EEL that could swim exceedingly well, and also run, climb and fly a little

had the higher average and was valedictorian.

The PRAIRIE DOGS stayed out of school and fought the tax levy because the administration would not add

digging and burrowing to the curriculum. They apprenticed their child to a BADGER and later joined the

GROUNDHOGS and GOPHERS to start a successful private school.

Praise God that through the ministration of the Holy Spirit; we don't have to live with the above

nonsense any more!!!

There has been and still is a lack of identity in the Body of Christ. Research has shown that the

greater portion of the Body of Christ does not know, or is not sure, of their position in the Body of

Christ. In other words they are uncertain about God's calling on their lives. Many people are trying

to do or be something they were not called and equipped to do. One man cannot fulfil all aspects

of ministry.

This can give rise to all sorts of crises in the Body of Christ, making a mockery of God's peace and

order. It can result in many different kinds of frustration and lack of fulfilment for the people in

ministry, with the consequent failure to supply the needs of the Body of Christ. If he is trying to be

a pastor and evangelist when he is called and anointed to be a teacher. In these end times God is

calling more and more people into the five-fold and supportive ministries.

Life in the Body of Christ can only be lived successfully if the five-fold ministry and supportive ministries

are firmly established on `church ground' at the local church level. The rest of the functions of the Body

of Christ flow out of the local church, and we need to look at these.

As the people in five-fold ministry equip the Body of Christ, and the Holy Spirit gives additional gifts

to His people for the purpose of ministry and service to His people; so will the Body of Christ flourish.

Thus proper team ministry will be established in the local church. When this happens ministers/saints

will not have to strive `in the flesh' in areas of ministry that are not called or anointed for.

Jesus said "My yoke is easy and My burden light."

                                                                                                            [Matthew 11:30]

The apostle is gifted by God, and together with his long walk with God, and the balance provided in the

witness of his fellow apostles, is able to place people in leadership positions to further serve and equip

the Body of Christ.  The church eagerly awaits the full restoration of these ministries to set the church

in order.

The guidance of the apostle is vitally necessary, because unless fully trained and equipped, the five-fold

ministries could have problems working together, thus destroying the all-important unity of the Body of

Christ. Nor will they be able to withstand what will be required of them: -

* GOD MUST PREPARE YOU BEFORE HE SENDS YOU

* HE MUST ALLOW YOU TO BE TESTED

Ministry has three phases:

[1.] Salvation is - The seed of a Ministry.

[2.] The call is - the birth of a Ministry.

[3.] The Preparation is - The tests of Ministry and they are; -.

1. The Time test.

Staying faithful to the vision of the scriptures; no matter what.

2.The Word test.

To stay true always to what the Word says.

3. The Character test.

To allow the Holy Spirit to remould our characters.

4. The Motivation test.

What is the underlying reason for what you are doing in your ministry?

5. The Servant test.

Is your reason for everything on ministry one of service to God's people?

6. The Wilderness test.

When it’s just you and your spirit against the evil ones, will your knowledge of God's Word and your

reliance on that Word; carry you through?

7. The Misunderstanding test.

Can we be completely misunderstood and keep going?

8. The Patience test.

Do we have the patience to hear what to do; from God?

9. The Frustration test.

Can we carry on with the vision when apparently

nothing is happening?

10. The Discouragement test.

When frustration reaches discouragement; can we carry on?

11. The Warfare test.

My agenda or satan's - are we prepared to deal with satan and eliminate him in the name of Jesus?

12. The self-will test.

simple in essence test - will I yield my will to Father God?

13. The Vision test.

Are we prepared to aim to completely understand what The Fathers vision is?

14. The Usage test.

Are we prepared to let ourselves be poured out like a drink offering or become a burnt sacrifice?

15. The promotion test.

Do we want to exalt ourselves or wait until God exalts us?

The tests won't necessarily flow in the above order.

The Holy Spirit leads the Body of Christ to perfection through the five-fold gifting; and then the following

will be expected according to the Word of God: -

1. Maturity

2. Established in the faith

3. Rooted & grounded in the truth

4. Liberty from deception

5. Truth in love

6. Constant growth

7. Harmony

                   Ephesians 4:11-14.[Adapted from Amplified Bible]

"I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does

bear fruit he trims clean so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain

in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit unless you remain in me

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If

anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire

and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory,

that you bear much fruit, showing your self to be my disciples.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as

I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may

be complete.

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no-one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You

are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead

I called you friends, for everything that I have learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you

to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.

                                                                                                           John 15:1-16.

All ministries need to produce the fruit of their ministry; else they become just mere status symbols to

lord it over other believers. If somebody is a doctor, electrician or a plumber then they have to produce

according to their qualifications. As it says in the word: -

`Examine yourself to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 13:5.

We see a `job description' in the following scriptures and are to test ourselves in the following matters: -

AMBASSADORS

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us-we implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled

to God.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 5:20.

ELDERS

The Elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honour, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the corn," and "The worker deserves his wages."

                                                                                                            1 Timothy 5:17, 18.

FISHERS OF MEN

Come, follow me," Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men."

                                                                                                            Matthew 4:19.

LABOURERS

Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers

into his harvest field."

                                                                                                Matthew 9:37, 38.

MEN OF GOD

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may

be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

                                                                                                            2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

MESSENGERS

As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow-worker among you; as for our brothers, they are representatives of the churches and an

honour to Christ.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 8:23.

MINISTERS OF THE CHURCH

I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness-

                                                                                                            Colossians 1:25.

MINISTERS OF CHRIST

.....to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles

might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

                                                                                                            Romans 15:16.

MINISTERS OF GOD

Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way; in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in

beatings, imprisonments and riots, in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness;

in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand

and the left; through glory and dishonour, bad report and good report; genuine yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded

as unknown, dying, and yet we live on; beaten and not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having

nothing, and yet possessing everything.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 6:4-10.

MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL

I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power.

                                                                                                            Ephesians 3:7.

MINISTERS OF THE LORD

Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the temple porch and the altar. Let them say, "Spare your people, O lord.

Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, "Where is

their God?"

                                                                                                                        Joel 2:17.

MINISTERS OF THE WORD

.....just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.

                                                                                                                        Luke 1:2

OVERSEERS

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Sprit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which

he bought with his own blood.

                                                                                                                        Acts 20:28.

SHEPHERDS

Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.

                                                                                                            Jeremiah 3:15.

PREACHERS

for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one they have not heard?

And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

And how can they preach unless they are sent?

As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

                                                                                                Romans 10:13, 14, 15.

PREACHERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness,

and seven others;.....

                                                                                                                        2 Peter 2:5

SERVANTS OF CHRIST

Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus.

                                                                                                            Philippians 1:1.

SERVANTS OF THE CHURCH

For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 4:5.

SERVANTS OF GOD

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness.

                                                                                                                        Titus 1:1.

SERVANTS OF THE LORD

And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

                                                                                                            2 Timothy 2:24.

SHEPHERDS

I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be terrified, nor will any be missing," declares the Lord.

                                                                                                            Jeremiah 23:4.

SOLDIERS

But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger,

whom you sent to take care of my needs.

                                                                                                            Philippians 2:25.

STEWARDS OF GOD

Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work...

                                                                                                                        Titus 1:7.

STEWARDS OF GRACE

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

                                                                                                                        1 Peter 4:10.

STEWARDS OF MYSTERIES

So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and those entrusted with the secret things of God.

                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 4:1.

WATCHMEN

I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You will call on the Lord and give yourselves no rest.

                                                                                                                        Isaiah 62:6.

WITNESSES

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,

and to the ends of the earth.

                                                                                                                        Acts 1:8.

WORKERS

As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 6:1.

APOSTLE

* ...built on the foundation of the apostle.......

                                                                                                            Ephesians 2:20

`The things that mark an apostle-signs, wonders and miracles.............

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 12:12

`They devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone

was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.

                                                                                                            Acts 2:42, 43.

`The reason I left you in Crete was that you might straighten out what was left unfinished, and appoint elders in every town

as I directed you.

                                                                                                                        Titus 1:5.

*.....`Are you not the result of my work in the Lord...For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 9:1, 2

`I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did this privately

to those who seem to be the leaders, for fear that I was running or had run my own race.'

                                                                                                                        Galatians 2:2

`For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in an

arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as men.

                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 4:9

`Rejoice over her, O heaven!

Rejoice, saints and apostles and prophets!

God has judged her for the way she treated you.'

                                                                                                            Revelation 18:20.

`For I am the least of the apostles and do not deserve to be called an apostle ...

                                                                                                             1 Corinthians 15:9

The church elders must test the apostle, the test being that he is doing what the word says---because

there are false apostles.

`I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those

that claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them to be false.'

                                                                                                            [Revelations 2:2]

`For such men are false apostles, deceitful workman, masquerading as apostles of Christ.'

                                                                                                            [2 Corinthians 11:13]

PROPHET

* Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have

gone out into the world.

This is how you can recognize the Spirit: Every spirit that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not

acknowledge Jesus is not from God.

                                                                                                            1 John 4:1-3a

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if revelation comes to somebody who is

sitting down, the first speaker should stop. For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. The

spirits of the prophets are under the control of the prophets.

                                                                                                1 Corinthians 14:29-32

* For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.

                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 14:33

* But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.

                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 14:3

Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not matter of eating and drinking, but of

righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

                                                                                                            Romans 14:16, 17

During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit

predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)

                                                                                                            Acts 11:27-28

...`built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone.

                                                                                                            Ephesians 2:20

* "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you shall

know them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree

bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is

cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus by their fruit you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform miracles?

Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me you evildoers!'

                                                                                                            Matthew 7:15-22.

* Therefore I tell you that no-one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is cursed," and no-one can say, "Jesus is Lord"

except by the Holy Spirit.

                                                                                                            1 Corinthians 12:3.

He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the father is mine. That is why

I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

                                                                                                            John 16:13, 14.

* At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me. "Do not do it! I am a fellow-servant with you and with your brothers

who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

                                                                                                            Revelations 19:10.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking and correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God

may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

                                                                                                            2 Timothy 3:16.

* For no matter how many promises God has made they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by the glory of

God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit

in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

                                                                                                2 Corinthians 1:20, 21.

When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists who whisper and mutter, should not a people enquire of their God? Why consult

the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have on light of dawn.

                                                                                                            Isaiah 8:19, 20.

* You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?" If what a prophet proclaims in

the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken

presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

                                                                                                Deuteronomy 18:20-22

If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign and wonder, and if the sign

and wonder of which he has spoken has taken place, and he says "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known) "and let us

worship," you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love

him with all your heart and with your soul. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and

obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he preached rebellion against the

Lord your God...

                                                                                                            Deuteronomy 13:1-5.

* But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak his own; he will speak only what he hears,

and he will tell you what is to come.

                                                                                                                        John 16:13.

* The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

                                                                                                                        John 6:63.

He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but he Spirit gives life.

                                                                                                            2 Corinthians 3:6

ANYONE WHO DOES NOT TEST THEMSELVES ON THE ABOVE CRITERIA OPENS THEMSELVES TO THE

APPLICATION OF THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURE: -

* IF YOUR BROTHER SINS AGAINST YOU, GO AND SHOW HIM HIS FAULT, JUST BETWEEN THE TWO OF YOU. IF HE LISTENS TO YOU, YOU

HAVE WON YOUR BROTHER OVER. BUT IF HE WILL NOT LISTEN, TAKE ONE OR TWO OTHERS ALONG, SO THAT EVERY MATTER MAY BE

ESTABLISHED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES. IF HE REFUSES TO LISTEN TO THEM, TELL IT TO THE CHURCH; AND

IF HE REFUSES TO LISTEN EVEN TO THE CHURCH, TREAT HIM AS YOU WOULD A PAGAN OR A TAX COLLECTOR.

                                                                                                            Matthew 18:15-17.

The criteria for the evangelists, pastors and teachers are well established by usage as these ministries

have been restored to the body for quite some time.

Much could still be said in regard to ministry; and would require a separate book in this regard. This

will be dealt with on another occasion.

The purpose of this website is to rather provide an overview on some aspects of ministry to God's people.

However; it is in fact impossible to flow in ministry unity until one has integrated the meaning of the

above scriptures; the putting together of which I believe was led by the Holy Spirit to the extent that I

even asked Him what `title' He wanted for this Chapter in the book. SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG.

and He said

"FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY PLAN FOR PERFECTION"

The Church Body in a locality is used to express the life of the Body, and the gifts in the Church Body

are used to express the ministry of its members.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY WITH INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM OF FUNCTION

INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM OF FUNCTION WITH CORPORATE RESPOSIBLITY

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You

are my friends if you do what I command.

                                                                                                            John 15:12-14.

Eph 4:11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Eph 4:12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Eph 4:13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the

stature of the fulness of Christ:

Eph 4:14  That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of

men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Eph 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:

Eph 4:16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual

working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood; you have no life in you. Whoever

eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father,

so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Our forefathers ate [manna] and died,

but he who feeds on this bread will live for ever."

                                                                         John 6:53-58. [New International Version]

So now you have an excellent foundation to 'be about your Father's business. Go forth and do it

in the context of the Grace 5 meetings. Pages 5 through 9.

Be blessed.
