WP-EZ Website Builder: Switch Themes - Add default pages for this theme?

One of the best features of the WP-EZ Website Builder (version 2.0) is that every theme comes with Pages Templates. Page Templates are pre-defined pages with sample text and sample images, already laid out in a beautiful format, so that all you have to do is swap in your text and images in place of the sample text and images and you have a great looking web page.

When switching to a new theme, if you want to keep all of the content of your web pages as it is, leave the “Add default pages for this theme?” checkbox unchecked.

If you want to use the page templates that come with the new theme, check that checkbox.

Note, that if you select the option to “Add default pages for this theme,” the theme switcher will add the new, default pages and give them a status of “draft” which means they are not published or visible to people who visit your website. You then have the opportunity to edit these new, “draft” pages, and swap in your text and images in place of the sample text and images. There’s no time limit to complete this step.

When you have finished editing the new, draft pages, click the green “Activate [theme name] Theme” button on the WP-EZ Dashboard. This will publish all the new pages and delete all your existing pages. If there are some existing pages you want to keep, you can restore them from trash. However, if there are a lot of existing pages you want to keep, this is probably not a good option for you.

If you don’t want to copy your content into the new pages and you don’t want your existing pages deleted, leave the “add default pages for this theme” option unchecked.
