wordpress-923188_1280One of my job responsibilities at OurChurch.Com is working with Christian organizations to develop great custom websites that will help them live out their mission online.  However, instead of calling it a “responsibility”, I think a more appropriate word to use is “privilege”.  It is a privilege working with churches, ministries, and businesses helping them move from a very frustrating website (or no website at all), to a website that looks great, performs well, and is easy to update.

Years ago, we at OurChurch.Com made the decision to begin using WordPress as the platform for all of our custom clients.  There were many reasons that we did this.  Over the next few weeks, I will discuss the main benefits of using WordPress as your website.

#1 Reason WordPress Is A Great Website Platform For You:  Supported World Wide.

Per a post by Tom Ewer in February 2014, over 74 million websites use WordPress as their platform (and that was 2 years ago).  There are thousands of developers world wide that have created and support over 40,000 plugins which add functionality to the WordPress core platform.

Because WordPress is such a widely used platform, most web developers are familiar and proficient in working with WordPress.   That is great news because it means that if you have a WordPress website and need some kind of assistance, it is very easy to find a developer who knows WordPress and will be able to assist you.  This is true for church websites, ministry websites, business websites, or school websites.

Check back next week as I talk about the second reason that WordPress Is A Great Website Platform For You!

    • Sure wordpress is a great platform, but for business platform, is WordPress better than ZenCart or OpenCart etc.,?

      • Yes, we think so. ZenCart and OpenCart are good shopping cart tools, but what about the rest of the website? WordPress provides one solution that covers the entire website including the shopping cart so everything is integrated and looks the same.

    • Ever since I discovered wordpress for website years ago (even though it’s been around for a lot longer than that) I have been hooked. Many still think that it’s just a blogging platform, but it’s so much more than that, as stated in your article.

    • Your points are one of the many reasons why WordPress is the best website platform for beginners and professionals alike. With WordPress, you are getting a system that …For super-simple websites, WordPress is an overkill. It’s better to code …. WordPress is one of the greatest platform for creating website or blog.

      • “Web Design Chennai” even super-simple websites need to look good, be easy to navigate and easy to update. It’s a lot easier to do that with WordPress than to try to code HTML.
