Did you know Jesus talked about websites?
OK, well, maybe not directly, but there is a specific principle Jesus spoke about which I think we should be more mindful of when it comes to our websites.
What we do…
It’s not unusual for an organization to build a website or have one developed for them and later discover one or more things about it they don’t like or find frustrating. Unfortunately, many web administrators do the following:
- Stew about the issue privately
- Vent or gossip about the issue publicly
- Bail on their current website and get a new one
It’s not surprising because this is how many people handle frustration with their job, their church and even their spouse. Stew, vent and bail.
What Jesus said…
In contrast, here’s what Jesus said:
If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. -Matthew 18:15
In other words, if you have an issue with someone, go directly to them and address it.
This doesn’t just apply to a narrow set of relationships like family or the people in your local church. It applies to everything.
Do you have an issue with your website?
Do you not like the way your website looks? Is there a bug? Is there something you want to do but can’t figure out how to do it?
Contact your website provider . “…go and point out their fault, just between the two of you.”
Most of the time (though not always) they will be able to resolve the issue. Isn’t that way better than building a whole new site or hiring someone to build a whole new site for you?
And here’s a bonus… if the issue you’re having is with a website builder, your conversation could result in a bug fix or feature addition that benefits everyone using that website builder.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen organizations bail on their OCC site and then we ask why, it turns out they built a whole new site because of something we could have easily fixed for them or helped them with. While I am sad to lose them as a customer, what bothers me most is the time and money the church, school ministry or business wasted building a new website that wasn’t necessary
So, whether it’s a small issue or something that’s big enough to cause you to consider building a new site, please “…go and point out [our] fault, just between the two of you.”

The solution could be surprisingly easy.
What do you think?
- What do you think about Matthew 18:15? Do live by it in your relationship with your website provider?
Jesus said very clearly when your brother or sis is in trouble go there and solve the problem so that they can get out of that trouble. He said very clearly about it. We have now websites to help others. Like if i know a subject then i can teach other people by posting that data online.
Amazing post 🙂 Thanks much 🙂
