Was 2015 a success? More specifically, was your website a success in 2015? You may think it is a little early to ask this question but if you don’t do this one thing, you will never truly know if your website was a success this year.
The one thing you need to do is set goals that can be measured by metrics. Goals, Metrics, Measurable. Those are the keys to knowing whether your website was a success or not.
So what should these be for your website? Below are some of the most common measurable metrics that organizations should track to determine the success of their website:
Church
- Traffic to the website
- Inquiries from the website (either through a contact form or from calls to your church)
- Visitors to your church
School
- Traffic to the website
- Inquiries from the website (either through a contact form or from calls to your school)
- Requests to tour your school
Business
- Traffic to the website
- Inquiries from the website (either through a contact form or from calls to your business)
- Sales
These are just a few of the basic metrics you can track. Some of these can be tracked through analytic software on the website, while some will require manual tracking.
Has your organization determined what it will track to determine whether your website is a success? If so, what metrics are you tracking?
