The First Step Towards a Successful 2015 Is…

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckDec 2, 2014Updated:Jan 27, 20232 Comments2 Mins Read

The Christmas season is upon us. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of the season, but…

If you don’t take this particular step now – a step I’ll describe in just a moment – your 2015 is likely to fall flat.

We’re all up to your ears in all the usual happenings of the season – Christmas parties, buying gifts, baking, sending Christmas cards, etc.

But as someone who manages a website for a church, school, ministry or business, on top of all of that, we’ve got the extra responsibility of preparing our organizations for Christmas. That may mean Christmas services, a Christmas concert, perhaps special Christmas sales.

With all that, it may be hard to imagine there is anything beyond December 25.

    But there is.

    It’s called 2015

Once Christmas is behind us it’s only a short week before the new year begins. Then the folks in our organizations are going to be looking to us for direction for 2015. They’re going to expect us to take the next step forward in the New Year.

    Will you be ready?

Yes, even with all the Christmas activities and responsibilities we’ve got make time to prepare for 2015 now, otherwise we’ll miss the opportunity of the New Year.

So, what’s the critical first step towards a successful 2015?

    Dream!

Stephen Covey, author of the best seller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, wrote:

“All things are created twice; first mentally; then physically.”

The first step towards making 2015 your best year ever is to imagine what you want the year to look like.

Three tips when it comes to dreaming for 2015

    1. Dream with your team. Don’t do it alone.
    2. Dream big dreams. Don’t be cautious. Push yourself. Dare to be remarkable!
    3. Write it down. Your dream or vision should guide your next step.

What is the next step – the second step towards a successful 2015? We’ll talk about that next week. (edit: link added)

    Discuss it!

Have you started dreaming about 2015 yet? If no, when are you going to do it? If yes, share your dream in a comment.

I dream that the doing of the Five Fold Ministry in Ephesians 4:1 thru 16 will be the harbinger of the Church without spot or wrinkle Ephesians 5:25 thru 27.
