How to Add Joy to Your Work

Written by Paul Steinbrueck

I love my job! Leading our team here at OurChurch.Com as we help Christian organizations live out their mission online is tremendously challenging and fulfilling.

But every job includes some tasks that seem mundane.

Perhaps updating your website fits into that category for you.

How can you find joy in your work, even in the tasks that are not your favorites?

First, remember what the bible tells us about work.

I have Colossians 3:23 sitting on my desk where I can see it at all times:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. – Colossians 3:23

Second, listen to Christian music while you work.

Our biggest challenge in life is keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. When we focus on our problems, we can easily become anxious or discouraged. It’s important to remind ourselves as often as possible that God is good, He loves us, and He is at work in us regardless of the circumstances.

Yesterday we made it super easy for you to listen to Christian music while you work on your OurChurch.Com website. When you login to https://MyOCC.ourchurch.com, the first thing you’ll see is the screen below.

Click it and instantly The JoyFM music player will appear and you can get to work.

Don’t like to listen to music while you work? No problem. Just click “No thanks” and you’ll be taken straight to the MyOCC Dashboard.

Just another way OurChurch.Com and The JoyFM are helping you find joy.
