How to Use Google Trends to Bring More Visitors to Your Website
How can these top 10 lists help bring more visitors to your website?
Well, let’s start with this…
The first step to bringing more people to your website from search engines is to know what people are actually searching for.
Keyword research is the part of the SEO process where we discover the most relevant keywords people are searching for. It’s a very important part of the process and often overlooked.
Typically, keyword research is one of the first things done in the SEO process, and the focus is on keywords that are consistently searched for over time. But, but as you can see from Google’s Year in Search, the most common searches this year were relegated to people and events in the news.
Hot Topics for Blog and Social Media Posts
Blogging and social media are two of the best ways to bring new people to your website directly and two of the best ways to improve your search rankings.
One of the best strategies for creating engaging blog and social media posts is to check Google Trends for hot topics that you can relate to your website.
Note, I’m not suggesting to post about the topics listed in Google’s top 10 for the year. Some of these topics peaked long ago. Google Trends shows you what searches are trending right now.
I’m also not suggesting you post about every trending topic. It’s important to post about topics that are actually relevant to your website and your audience. It doesn’t necessarily have to be directly related to your organization, but it is important to find a way to relate it to your organization.
For example if your church is close to a university that is playing a college football bowl game, you could do a post supporting the team. Or with all the Bitcoin hype, you could write a post about Bitcoin and a biblical perspective on investing.
The possibilities are only limited by your own creativity.
