In case you haven’t noticed…
The World is in Ruins
In just the last couple of months the U.S. has been hit by 3 major hurricanes, the worst mass shooting in history and some of the worst wildfires in memory. We have an opiod epidemic, and an economy that has left many people behind. And there seems to be so much division and divisiveness amplified by a polarizing media.
The second law of thermodynamics states that closed systems naturally move from a state of order to a state of disorder. We call this entropy. Mountains erode, dead trees decay, anything in motion will slow down over time and eventually stop completely due to friction.
The same is true of human cultures
Over time, cultures always decline. Communities erode, morals decay, those with power abuse that power for selfish gain, movements for positive change slow down over time and eventually stop completely due to friction.
The good news is this is only true of “closed systems,” systems for which no energy is added or removed.
Overcoming Entropy
In the natural world, entropy and disorder are overcome by adding energy. Volcanic mountains grow when energy from the earth’s core pushes magma up to the surface, new trees grow with the help of solar energy, and moving objects accelerate when wind energy pushes them along.
The same is true in human cultures…
When God-led people with a vision for positive change take action, the downward decay of culture can be overcome. Lives are changed, oppression is overcome, community grows.
As I’ve said before, I believe God has a purpose for every person. That means you – yes YOU – were made for a mission!
Just about everyone and everything in this world will tell you not to pursue that mission. “Don’t rock the boat.” “Don’t risk it.” “Things are fine just as they are.”
But I’m going to tell you just the opposite because…
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. -Edmund Burke
Most good men and women do just that – nothing.
What about you?
If we can help you live out you mission online with a better Christian or church website or reach more people with better search marketing, we would love to do that, because the world needs you to bring your dream to life!

Hey Paul, how are you?
This is a nice message. Here in Brazil the things are not good too: corruption in our government and economy is falling more and more, the rate of thefts and deaths has increased greatly. And that’s just the beginning.
But in spite of all this, I believe that God has a purpose above all things and His will will be made and revealed!
God bless you and bless your ministry too!
Cheers,
Rafael
Hi Rafael, thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear things are challenging in Brazil. What action do you believe God is leading you to make to have a positive impact in your country?
