Does your church have an ugly website that is hard to use?
Are you having a difficult time convincing your pastor that your church needs a new website that makes a good first impression and is optimized for search engines so people can find it?
This week Brady Shearer of Pro Church Tools tackled this issue in an episode of #AskBrady Take a look at this ~5 minute segment starting at 19:50
(Note: for some people the video isn’t starting right at 19:50. You may need to move it to that point)
A few highlights…
Find what your pastor care about – the mission and vision of the church – and explain your goal (to get a new website) in that mission. Tell your pastor how a new church website and church SEO will help your church to reach your community and make disciples.
Point out that when we look for anything we go to Google and we search for it. We look at top websites that appear in the search results, and we choose from among them. Use an example from your own life. This is true for when people in your community are searching for a church as well.
And the kicker…
If you do not have a quality website that is SEO optimized and makes a great first impression you are basically saying with your actions to the world, “We do not care about you.” -Brady Shearer
What do you think?
- Are you and your church in this situation where you’re struggling to convince your pastor (or maybe the church board who makes the budget) that you need a new church website or church SEO? What are you doing about it?
- Have you been in this situation in the past? Do you have any other advice to offer?
