As part of The Best Church Websites theme month, we continue to discuss features that every church website should have. In this post, we discuss being mobile friendly.
So what is a mobile-friendly website and why is it so important?
Mobile-friendly is the ability for your website to be viewed well on smartphones and tablets, as well as notebooks and desktop computers. When a website is mobile-friendly, it senses what kind of device is being used to view it and it displays the website in a format that is optimal for that device. This means that the way your website looks on a computer will be similar, but slightly different than when it is viewed using a smartphone.
The reason that this is important is because more and more people are using their phones and tablets to surf the web. In fact, according to SimilarWeb approximately half of all website traffic now comes from mobile devices.
It is absolutely crucial for your church website to be mobile friendly. Otherwise, you are snubbing half of your visitors.
So if your website isn’t mobile friendly, 50% of the folks coming to your site are doing the frustrating “Pinch & Zoom” or they are leaving your site as quickly as they got there.
If you have a site that is not mobile friendly, it is time to make a change. If you have a site with OurChurch.Com’s old NE1 website building, you can migrate to the new WP-EZ Website Builder and automatically have a mobile-friendly website. If you aren’t hosting with OurChurch.Com and don’t have a mobile friendly site, check us out. We offer the best church website builder for those who want to build the site yourself as well as Custom church websites that we build for you.
