Unmanned aerial vehicles – aka drones – are making news nearly every day. They are impacting air travel, privacy, and commerce, but this is the first time I’ve seen one used in church.
St. Paul’s Church in Brookfield Center, Connecticut shot this video from a drone during their Easter worship service April 5, 2015
The video was posted to YouTube and embedded on their homepage .
I give them credit for trying something new. For someone who visits their website or YouTube account and may be interested in visiting the church in person, it gives them an overview (literally and figuratively) of what it would be like to be in a worship service.
What do you think? Inovative step forward? Irreverent and inappropriate for a worship service? Gimmicky? Fun idea?
