I always feel a tremendous sense of excitement during the first week January because of chance to start fresh with a new year, full of new opportunities.
But now – more than 3 weeks into the year – I still haven’t finished planning and setting goals for the new year. Just this week, we here at OurChurch.Com had our 3rd strategic planning meeting and we still have more work to before plans for 2015 are finalized.
That sense of opportunity could easily be replace by anxiety that we’re falling behind or even dread that the 2015 train has left the station and we missed it.
Maybe you feel this way…
Perhaps you still haven’t put together personal, spiritual, health, family or business goals for the year.
Or perhaps you set some goals for the year and you’re already off track. You’ve already broken your new diet, or you’ve fall back into old habits, or you still haven’t taken the first step towards a goal you set.
As a result, maybe you feel like you missed your window of opportunity, nothing is going to change and 2015 is going to be just like 2014.
Here’s a little secret…
There is nothing magic about January 1.
It’s not the only day of the year you can set new goals. It’s not the only day you can take the first step towards a goal. The place you are now does not have to be the place where you still find yourself at the end of the year.
Don’t lose heart!
Don’t get down on yourself or give up on the year.
- If you haven’t set goals for 2015, you can still set them.
- If you haven’t taken that first step, take it today.
- If you’re already off track, start over.
This applies to our topic here on Christian Web Trends – faith and online communication – as much as any other. If you still need to set goals, take action or get on track with your communications strategy, website, or search marketing, it’s not too late to do that now.
If you want to talk through any of these things issues or move forward, let us know.
Where are you 3 weeks into 2015? Goals set and on track towards them? Feeling like you’re stuck at the station? Somewhere in between? Post a comment and discuss.
