Get $50 to Share an Example of Good Web Design

visa-gift-card-50Our team at OurChurch.Com wants to help you overcome your web design challenges and questions. We’ve declared September to be Web Design Month. Each week this month we are going to “crowd source” a blog post. If you’re not a techno-geek, that means we want as many Christian Web Trends readers as possible to contribute to this post.

To make things interesting, we’re going to give away a $50 Visa gift card (redeemable any place that accepts Visa)

This week’s question: Share an Example of a Well Designed Website in Your Niche. What do you like about it?

In other words, if you manage a church website, post the web address of a church whose website you admire for its design & tell us why. If you manage a school website, show as a well-designed school site and explain.

To be eligible for the $50 gift card all you have to do is.

  1. Share this post on Twitter or Facebook
  2. Answer this week’s question in a comment and mention the Twitter or FB profile where you shared the post.

On Monday Sept 24, we’ll select the winner and post next week’s question. You must be a U.S. resident to be eligible for the gift card, but everyone everywhere is welcome to post their web design tips.

Congrats to Jeremy Sarber  winner of the last drawing from last week’s post: What is your #1 Web Design Tip?

Thanks for participating!

    • Thanks Roy. Good stuff. I don't think I've seen a church use 1-2 minute videos like that on their site that weren't created to promote a sermon series, event or introduce the church. Did your church create them? How are they used? In services? Elsewhere?

      • Hey Paul! When we were creating the website we had a bunch of short videos that we had made and/or purchased that were laying around not getting used, so we wanted to incorporate them into the site so they would be available to visitors and members. We have 2 Sunday morning services and still run Sunday School in between services so time is pretty crunched on Sunday morning and videos don't get played nearly often enough. We do promote them on our social media platforms though. We are slowly changing the culture and getting people used to and excited about videos in service to help direct the worship experience.

    • Thanks Beau. Nice looking site. I like the design, the colors and the image/content rotator on the homepage. The only thing I find odd about it is the light blue bar about the top which extends the full width of the screen and seems to duplicate the menu that's just below it on the site.

I was involved a lot in Intervarsity when I was in college, so I'm always happy to see IV groups doing good stuff online!

  • It's a little later than planned, but it's time to announce the winner of edition of the crowd-sourced blog post $50 Visa gift card. Drum roll please… the winner is…

    Roy Condrey

    Congrats Roy!

Good examples are helpful in all aspects of life, and that's true when it comes to web design. I'll leave this post open so others can continue to post examples of well-designed websites.
