As a part of OurChurch.Com’s Social Media Month, OurChurch.Com is doing a Facebook Fan Drive for Orphans.
We’re on a quest to reach 2,000 Facebook Fans by the end of August. If we do it, we’ll donate $500 to Springs of Hope Kenya, an awesome Christian home for orphans started by our friends Joe and Molly Bail.
What can you do to help?
- Become a Facebook Fan of OurChurch.Com by going to our Facebook page and clicking the Like button.
- Use the “Suggest to Friends” feature at the top right of the OurChurch.Com Facebook page to encourage your Facebook friends to become fans of OurChurch.Com
- Post a link to this announcement on your Facebook wall (once would be good, several times throughout the month would be awesome!)
While there’s no obligation to give to Springs of Hope or join their Facebook group, you might consider it anyway. It’s a wonderful Christian home, where these kids are being cared for physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Thanks for helping us reach our goal!

This is an outstanding cause – I hope you reach your goal quickly!
After the first week (of 4) we've welcomed just over 350 new Facebook fans. Yeah! That puts us on track (just barely) for 2,000 by the end of the month. Please continue to spread the word by tweeting and sharing a link to this post on Facebook. Thanks to all who have helped so far!
BIG thanks to all our new fans & everyone who has helped spread the word! After a good first week (350+ new fans), things slowed down a bit last week (100+ new fans). We're at 1,075 now, so we need 925 new fans in the next 13 days. It's gonna be tough but we can do it. Please share the link (once a week if you don't mind). Thanks!
Love it! I have been doing a similar campaign for my businesses fan page. There was a family in my hometown that had their 2 year old son died in a house fire. The dad went into the fire and pulled out the 2 year old and his 4 year old and nearly lost his life doing it. He is recovering still, the 4 year old is doing great, but they are grieving the loss of their 2 year old. Such a sad story. Both parents are school teachers and outstanding Christians in the community I grew up in. The cool thing is the small community has raised probably over $300k in less than a month to help cover expenses!! Amazing.. I started a fan page for the community to aid in communicating and supporting the family: https://www.facebook.com/OneCommunitySupportingThe…
What I'm doing is for every 100 fans we get for our business page we'll donate $25 to the family. So far it has grown about 400 fans since we announced the fundraiser!! So excited for the family..
I'd love anyone of ourchurch to go be a fan: https://www.facebook.com/IQTRANSPORT
Hey Scott, that's cool that you're doing something similar. A Facebook Fan Drive like this is something a lot of organizations and charities could team up to do.
Definitely. People want to rally behind a cause.
Forward Ever and backward never
About 100 more people became "fans" of OCC in the last week. Thank you! Looks like we may have set our sights too high as we need 840 new fans in the next week to reach our goal. But let's not give up. The closer we get to our goal the better, so please share/retweet one more time. Thanks!
