FOOTNOTES FROM GOD
![]() For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (Matthew 12:37) "Idle words" Matt. 12:15-37 It is very good for me to remember these two verses: Verse 36, "But, I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." Verse 37, " For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." In my past I have been known as a clown and a punster. I am able to mimic accents and sounds and have made myself the life of more than one party with such things. I am certain most of those will count as "idle words." Consequently, these passages have great significance to me. I would like to challenge God by saying, "You gave me this gregarious nature. Why must I be condemned by it." As usual, my Jesus answers gently in my thoughts, "It is not the sounds of your mouth that will condemn or justify you, but the condition of your heart from where they come. If you continue to seek Me, your heart will continue to change and your God given personality will bring joy to others and glory to God." Thank you, Jesus. I know that my, "idle words," are also covered by your blood. I know that "idle words" are those designed to bring glory to me and not to You. They are the ones used to demean another or to make myself look better. I pray to learn from these passages to take my "idle words" seriously, so that I may know the condition of my heart and press in closer to the One whose lips only uttered 'healing" words. Amen.
