Kahua Baptist Church
Our Pastor
The Lippincott Family
Pastor Les Lippincott was raised in New Jersey in a Christian home. He received Christ as his Savior at the tender age of eight. It was during high school that Les felt he was being called to attend a Christian university. He had no idea what the Lord had in store for him at that time. Les attended Bob Jones University where he graduated in 1984 with a degree in accounting. While a student at BJU Les felt the call to preach and the desire to be a pastor. Also at BJU he met his wife, the former Kathy Marsteller. Kathy graduated a year prior to Les and left to teach in Michigan with a diamond on her finger. They were married in Hope, Michigan in July 1984.
While in Michigan, Les earned his M.Div. and Th.M. degrees from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. Les and Kathy served in various ministries at Inter-City Baptist Church in Allen Park, Michigan (Dr. David Doran, pastor). Inter-City Baptist Church sent the Lippincotts to Hawaii in 1990 as "tentmakers."
In Hawaii, the Lippincotts united with Ohana Baptist Church (www.obchurch.org) in Salt Lake where Les assumed the role of associate pastor (under Pastor Wayne Surface). The goal of planting a fundamental Baptist Church in the Kapolei area was always in view. On April 5, 1992 Les and Kathy, along with the Ramon and Matson families started holding services--Kahua Baptist Church. The Lord has blessed the Lippincotts with four children. The Lippincotts reside in Makakilo and are very active in the community. They strive to reach all who will listen to the Word of God.
I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. II Timothy 4:1,2
