The past few weeks all hell has come against me as I step forth to do what I am called to be doing for the Lord. With spirits of division, offense, irritation, and trials of overwhelming magnitude launched at me, I had prayed, fasted, and rebuked until I was worn out. Finally, I came to the Lord in quietness and felt led to take Holy Communion with Him. I was searching for a small cup for the grape juice and found a top to the liquid flu medicine. Perfect size!! Ok...now we have it. I sat there in His presence and heard His voice so quietly: "Yes, daughter, take your medicine."
His blood is surely a tonic for what ails our hearts. He was wounded for our transgressions (sins). It is only the power of the blood of the perfect Lamb of God that can set our soul straight again. And in those moments of quiet reflection I was miraculously restored to life again.
He is My Wounded Healer. He too, had been wounded. Have you? Come and find refreshment for your soul. The Lord says to us in Acts 3:19, "Now turn from your sins and turn to God so you can be cleansed of your sins. Then wonderful times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord and he will send Jesus your Messiah to you again." In that we can see repentance must come before times of joy are released to us. But oh, what JOY for those who's sins have been forgiven!
Sometimes it is not so much what happens to us but how we react to it. Jesus is my example. He was nailed to the cross and YET he forgave those nailing him there! There was no offense within him as he gave up his life for me. He did not retaliate against me, a sinner, but drew me closer so that I could see Him for who He really is. Take a closer look at Jesus, and let Him draw you in today. Let him wash away your pain, grief, offense and struggle. Take your medicine. You'll feel better in the morning.
