Corby Pentecostal Church
Church history
The church was pioneered in the late 1940's and received help and support from Stewarts & Lloyds (the old steel works).
The early congregation met in a mobile caravan whilst members built the new building.
Pastor and Mrs Ken Rowlands came from Bible college to be the first pastors and married the first couple, Sunday school teachers Rosemary and Ivor Davies on Boxing Day 1951.
Joe Harris (shown below) lived in the house next door and with his wife Marian, were stalwarts of the church. Their children, and grandchildren were married in the church.
Church members have gone on into ministry themselves, such as John Harris (a pastor for many years in the USA) and the late David Campbell.
