The Pastor
![]() The Reverend DeWayne Gordon Parker is a native of Washington, D.C. He is the oldest of five children. He is married to Vealetta Parker and is the father of three daughters, Destiny Parker, Dynasty Parker, and Dai Parker. Education Reverend Parker received his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Howard University, Washington, D.C., and attended Morehouse College School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center is Atlanta, Georgia. He has earned a Masters degree in Religion at Howard School of Divinity. Professional Reverend Parker has been teaching for 20 years in the Public School System. He is currently employed at the John Burroughs Elementary School, Washington, D.C., and serves as a 6th grade instructor. Other professional experience include: teacher, Humphries Elementary School, Atlanta, Georgia; module leader, Association for Renewal in Education, Washington, D.C.; and a camp director for Best Friends, Atlanta, Georgia. He was selected as an outstanding teacher of the year, 1993. He also was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Professional Fraternity in Education in 1994. Ministry "By the grace of God, and the leading of the Holy Spirit," Reverend Parker was called to be a servant of Jesus Christ. He received his ministerial practicum under the tutelage of the Reverend Dr. J.L. Smith, former Pastor of the Beulah Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia and the Reverend William H. Montgomery, late Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. Reverend Parker has been the Pastor of Evangel Missionay Baptist Church, located in Washington, D.C., for 16 years. ![]()
