Legal Wordings - Pondering Bible Words
Logic - Non-logic
There are many logic arguments in the Bible.
The patterns can be followed with suitable words.

Key words are:
true, false, if...then, instead of ....
if a...and b, then....
certain, confident,
if ...,_____; if not ..., _____.

If you look with the help of the Holy Spirit, you should find the wordings.

Is this true? Daniel 3:14
Is het waar? - Dutch
Est-il vrai? - French
Ist es wahr? - German

Paul used arguments in his defense at the various courts.
He tailor made the arguments for the court personnel present.

The case A, B, C...
If a man A,_____. If B, _______. If C, _____. If D, ______.
(Conditional legal results re: The Daughters of Zelophelad)
- Numbers 27:8-11
Wenn ein Mann A, _____. Wenn B,____. Wenn C, ____. Wenn D,____. - German
Se um homem A,____. Se B,_____. Se C,_____. Se D, _____. - Portuguese
Cuando un hombre A, ____. Si B, ____. Si C, ____. Si D, ____. - Spanish

Today witnesses make statements and the lawyers and others try to put a case together logically too.

Non-logic...

Any Statements anyone says or writes are automatically in logic form. The assumption is that a statement is true the way it is stated....but...

- Stereotypes have been around for a long time. Even influential people can endorse them. The information may have been stated so often, that stereotyped people believe the slander themselves.

@#!% are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.
Titus 1:12
- French
These stereotyped people are loved by God--the Holy Spirit came to members of these people at Pentecost. Witnesses declared:
We hear THEM declaring the wonders of GOD in our own tongues.
Acts 2:(11)
- French
When encountering a stereotype, stereotyped individuals may show that those preconceptions can be false, when they state something like :
#@!* I am, yet lovely. Song of Songs 1:(5)
Ich bin @#$@, aber anmutig. - German
Sono %*&!, eppure sono bella. - Italian
Je suis &%#*, et je suis jolie. - French
and
Stop judging by mere appearances. John 7:(24)
Non dovete giudicare secondo l'apparenza. - Italian
- French

Appeals should rely on logic
It's weighing the options and deciding.
It's knowing what options are possible.
So what right do I have to complain/make_any_more_appeals to ___?"
2 Samuel 19:28(/29)
- French
Was für ein_Recht/einen_Anspruch habe ich da noch zum ___ zu schreien? = German (schreien = to scream)
- Spanish

The last resort is begging.
Begging appeals to emotions, confused logic, uncertainty...

I appeal to you. I, ________(name of speaker).... I beg (all of)you. 2 Cor 10:1
- German

If that didn't work, then the accused can appeal with a similar wording to be heard by someone else, probably someone in a higher court:

I appeal to ____X_____. Acts 25:7
J'adresse personnellement un appel à ___X_____. - French
Soy you mismo, quien suplica ____X_____. - Spanish
Ich selbst, berufe mich auf _____X_____. - German

compare:
I appeal to _____. Acts 25:7
J'en appelle à ______. - French
Ich berufe mich auf _____. - German
Io mi appello a ______. Italian
Odwołuję się do _____! - Polish
¡Apelo a(l) _____! - Spanish
Требую суда _____(eva). - Russian

When an appeal has been made, there should be a decision.
The accused would like to hear:

You have appealed to _____X_____. To ____X_____ you will go.
Acts 25:12
Tu en as appelé à (l') ____X____/ Tu iras donc devant (l')___X____. - French

Before the second part can be said, several stages are gone through.

The judge of a higher court to whom the appeal may be made has to be asked about it.
He/she has to consent with words such as:

I would like to hear this man myself. Acts 25:22
Je voudrais bien entendre moi-même cet homme. - French

When the judge requesting an appeal knows that this is possible, he can put closure on the case in his own court.

Because he (the accused) made his appeal to (the)_______, I decided to send him (the accused) to _______(the person who hears the appeal /or/the place of the person who will hear the appeal).
- French

A date will be set for the appeal.
Then the day before the appeal in the higher court, there is a reminder to this judge by an assistant or by colleagues. That way there is time for any review of the case or last minute enquiries or even a postponement.

Tomorrow you will hear him/_____. Acts 25: 22
Demain, tu l'entendras.
(Demain, tu entendras ________. ) - French

There should be new information:
******
Insanity? Proof is sought about such a state of mind. Standards are compared logically.
The verdict may be changed, if the accused is judged "insane".

The "insane" legal wordings relate to talking about an insane person or talking to someone who seems insane to find out if they can be coherent.

Of course the wordings can be adapted for a woman, a child or more than one person,...if you know how.

I am not insane Acts 26:25
Ich bin nicht verrückt. - German
Je ne suis pas fou. - French
No estoy loco. - Spanish
What I am saying is true and reasonable. Acts 26:25
Was ich sage, ist wahr und vernünftig. - German
- Spanish

You are out of your mind! Acts 26:24
Du bist verrückt geworden. (You became crazy.)- German
Tu es fou. - French
Tú estás loco. - Spanish
Your great learning is driving you insane. Acts 26:24
- German
Tu as tant étudié que cela te rend fou. - French
Tu mucha cultura te ha transformado. - Spanish
About a third person:
He/________ is insane. 1 Samuel 21:14
Der Mann/_____ ist wahnsinnig. - German
Cet homme/______ a perdu la raison. -French
_____ había perdido la razón.
_____ está loco. - Spanish

Look at the man! 1 Samuel 21:14
Ihr seht doch. (All of you do see, don't you) - German
Vous voyez bien... - French
Si ustedes ven que... - Spanish

He...letting saliva run down (his beard) 1 Samuel 21:13
Er...ließ Speichel (in seinen Bart) laufen. - German
- French
...le corrierea la saliva (por la barba). - Spanish

He...making marks on the doors of the gate. 1 Samuel 21:13
Er...kritzelte auf die Torflügel. - German
- French
...tocaba el tambor en las puertas. - Spanish

The judge may think the accused should have been dealt with in other ways and say:
Why bring him to me? 1 Samuel 21:15
Warum bringt ihr ihn zu mir? - German
Pourquoi me l'amenez-vous? - French
¿Para qué me lo trajeron? - Spanish

The accusers would state their reasons. They may include the
A)crazy because of long studies
reason or:

B)He pretended to be insane. 1 Samuel 21:13
Er stellte sich wahnsinning. - German
Il adopta un comportement anormal. - French
- Spanish

...in their presence. 1 Samuel 21:13
devant _______. - French
C)He acted like a madman. 1 Samuel 21:14
Er tobte. - German
Il se mit à divaguer. - French
Se portaba como un loco. - Spanish

...while he was in their hands 1 Samuel 21:14
...als sie ihn festhalten wollten.
(...when they wanted to hold him) - German
...parmi eux (among them). - French

D) He/______ pretended to be insane before _________. Psalm 34:1
Er/______ hatte sich vor ihm/______ wahnsinnig gestellt. - German
Il/_____ s'était fait passer pour fou.
Why would anyone pretend to be insane? There may be many reasons.
David was afraid for his life...
________ was very much afraid of ___________. 1 Samuel 21:13
______ fürchtete um sein Leben (von_________). - German
_______eut très peur de _______. - French
_______temió mucho a _____. - Spanish

First David had heard information that had startled and shocked him.
______ took these words to heart./(was startled/shocked) 1 Samuel 21:13
_____ erschrak. - German
_______ ressentit la gravité de ces propos. - French
_______ comprendió estas palabras. (___understood these words.) - Spanish

Judges still need to be wise when a plea of insanity is made by the accused or the accusers!!
