S.W.A.T. For Youths
Something to THINK about!
Honour your Father and your Mother
Honour your Father and your Mother
Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, be obedient to your parents as a Christian duty,
for it is a duty. "Honour your Father and your Mother" ,this is the
first Commandment which has a promise added to it,"so that it may be
well with you, and that you may live long on the earth."

I know you've probably heard this one a million times by now, but I need
to stress this point.

Teens, and children of all ages NEED to obey your parents, unless there is
a moral objection to what they tell you, you MUST obey them. You have
no idea how important this is. I know. You're thinking "what good
does it do me to obey them?".

Well, that God promises us that we will live a long life always IS
a plus, and life in general will be pretty good. Also it makes your
parents less on edge and they will be more likely to trust you. You
will be wanting to go to THE party, you know which one I'm talking
about, "the party of the century" the one that if you miss out on it you
will be the outcast of the social world. Now if you obeyed your parents
in the stupid stuff like taking out the trash; doing your homework; feeding
the dog, or sister, they will be more likely to trust you in the bigger
things, where there is a chance you will run in to things that they might
be worried about. Even if they do say no, and you don't put up a hassle,
that improves your odds of getting to do something else that you like to
do. The party probably would have been a bust anyways.

When it comes down to it, the reason you obey your parents isn't because
of what you can get out of it, but because God told you that you should!
And that should be reason enough, even if you don't have the parents of
your dreams.

God Bless,
Associate Pastor Hannah
