A Message from Pastor Schermbeck (updated November 8) ![]() Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior! The school year seems to be flying by! We are into November already, and the holiday season is just around the corner. Hopefully the school year has been fruitful thus far. As we approach the beginning of the holiday season we are nearly at the end of the church year. Advent, which begins November 29th, is a season of preparation for the birth of the Christ child—our living God and Savior in the flesh. It also marks the beginning of the church year, which runs a little different than the calendar year. At the end of each church year we think about what God has done for us and the gifts that He has given us in this life. However, we also look at His promise to return and restore His creatures and creation to their intended perfection. We celebrate the fact that God’s forgiveness is already ours in Jesus Christ, and also that someday the difficulties of this life will pass and we will be in perfect relationship with the God of the world that loves us more than we could ever imagine. What a fellowship, what a joy divine, in the everlasting arms of God! God be with you as we move toward the holidays. Pastor Schermbeck ![]() |
