A Message from Ali Federwitz (updated November 8, 2009) ![]() Dear Faithful Partners We have arrived safely in Accra and will be spending the next few days taking care of odd and ends before we travel to Papua New Guinea. For the last several weeks, I have been very busy packing up our house and moving the majority of our belongings into one room for storage. Alvina was with us for a few days and then Christina Riddle stayed for two weeks to help with the kids while I focused on packing and sorting. Christina remained at the house after we left to do some last minute cleaning and packing. David and Valerie and their family came to "goodbye" us. David will be making sure that things remain in order at our house while we are gone. We also recently hired a day watchman to be at our house in our absence. Please pray for Paul (day watchman), William (night watchman), Lillian (living in our house), and David as they care for the house and details related to it for the next 14 months. As we were driving away from Tamale yesterday morning, I was not sad but did come to the realization that we had just left the only home our kids have known. Hannah is pretty aware of all of the traveling that we are going to do but I know that she can't fully grasp it. All she knows is that we are going to be taking "many airplanes" to see family in Papua New Guinea and then "many airplanes" to see Grandma and Grandpa and that we won't be coming back to Ghana for a long time. Levi, of course, doesn't have much of a clue and is just going along with whatever we do. I doubt that he will remember much about Ghana. This is just a reminder that we still have dates available for speaking in Illinois during the month of February. Please send me an email if you are interested in having us come to visit with you. Our Sundays are full but we still have availability Monday-Saturday. Hey, Wisconsin! We are planning on visiting you in March. Start sending me your requests, please! We will be out of email contact while we are traveling but you will hear from me again shortly after our arrival on December 1. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin our travel around the world. Pray especially that we will get adequate rest on the flights to keep us going and that we will have an extra measure of patience with our children. Above all, praise God for the opportunity we had to serve here in Ghana, for the blessing of visiting family and renewing relationships in PNG, and for reuniting with friends and family in the US. Blessings! -ali ![]() |
