Justin's 4-H Veterinary Science Group recently went to the Sharkarosa Exotic Wildlife Ranch in Pilot Point, Texas. They spent the day learning about the animals and some of the many different tasks that are associated with raising exotic critters. What a great time we all had, we hope you enjoy the pictures.

Every field trip requires a group picture. They were all cold as the weather was only 40 deg F and wind chill of 26 deg F. They're young so they all had fun anyway.

This is a Bennet's Wallaby with a Joey (baby) in her pouch. This was probably the cutest picture of the day!

These crazy little critters are Ring Tailed Lemurs. WOW, you talk about energy, if you could plug them into the wall you could power an entire city. They were very busy and absolutely crazy!

This little fellow is a Black & White Ruffed Lemur from the island Madagascar. He was very friendly and loved to be held.

These beautiful horses are actual very rare Paint Clydesdales. They were glad to see us because we brought food with us. Each of these Clydesdals weighed almost 2400 lbs. Now that's a big horse!

This beautiful creature is a Guanaco which are a cousin to an Alpaca or Llama. They are from the high mountains in Peru and Chile and considered to be an endangered species. This female just strutted around looking very elegant.

Even the Grant's Zebras came up to eat from our feed buckets. Although they were friendly to us, they chased all the other animals away and wanted all the attention.
