No Fear-Only Love ![]() The thought of really loving someone scares alot of us to death. We have given love before and what happened? We were hurt, betrayed, abused, and rejected. How can we let ourselves love again? As hard as it is, we have to. We have to love because Jesus loves us. (1 John 4:11) By showing love to others, we show them God. 1 John 4:16-19 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement: because as is he, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. There will be some that will reject the love that we have to give. Don't be afraid of that. They are not really rejecting you, they are rejecting Christ. Love because Jesus loves. He won't ever stop loving us, not ever. Tear down that wall of fear that keeps you from loving someone else. Let the love of Jesus shine through you. By showing the world that you are not afraid to love, you are teaching someone else that they can love too. Perfect love with no fear. ©2003 Stephanie Mull/Wonderfully Made Don't Worry About It Sometimes it seems that no matter what we do, we can't get ahead. Sometimes, we can't even get caught up. We do our best to live in God's will. We pray, read our Bibles, fellowship with other believers, and we are still behind. We see others around us who are prospering and wonder why. How can some of these people who lead such immoral lives, with no thought of God at all, have the wordly security they have? Psalm 37:1-3 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Psalm 37:16-18 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arrms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. Those unjust people may have it "made" here on earth. What happens to them when they face eternity? They won't be blessed then. They'll be suffering unimaginably throughout eternity. We have the promise, the blessed assurance, that we as God's children are heirs to heaven. We have the promise of eternity in the presence of Jesus. All the earthly trials and difficulties will be forgotten. There will never be another unfulfilled need. That gives us something to look forward to, so let's quit wasting time worrying so much about "now". Have faith and believe it's gonna be all right. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Wars and Rumors of Wars 2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. We are definitely living in perilous times. The threat of war looms all around us. Some places in the world have never known anything other than war. Terrorism is a threat, ugly as it is, but it is still warfare. Wars are fought over land, politics and religion. Each side is determined their way is the only way. We should pray for those caught in the conflicts. We should pray for those couragous souls who are defending what is right. Does any of this mean that we should live in fear? Jesus said in Matthew 24:6, And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. There are going to be wars until Christ returns. He will be the one to put an end to all the suffering. We have hope because we are His. Worrying about what may or may not happen holds us back from what we are called to do. We need to be sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with this war and sin ravaged world. Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Jesus, with His Saints (that's you and me), is going to return to this earth to judge the world and usher in peace. {Revelation 19-22} We don't have to worry about these wars because we know who has already won the ultimate victory. Don't be afraid--Rejoice-- each conflict brings us one step closer to our Lord's return. ![]() |
