U.S. Congress, MD District 4 Faith in Politics
![]() John Jay, our first Supreme Court Chief Justice wrote the following to Jedidiah Morse on February 28, 1797: "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." So what did our first Chief Justice know that seems to be absent from the thinking of virtually all elected Democrats. He understood the First Amendment's establishment clause that Congress shall not establish a religion, NOR INTERFERE IN THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF. Yet today's "politically correct" liberals do everything they can to keep the truth of the Gospel from us! Why? They believe that if they can define God in their image, anything goes since there is no longer an absolute truth. But God's Word never departs from the truth that we all fall short of His glory (Roman 3:23) and none of us can save ourselves from the penalty of our rebellion against God (Romans 6:23). Since "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17), please read and meditate on John 3:16 (For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.),John 14:6 when Jesus said to Thomas (I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.), Phil. 2-10-11 (that at the name of Jesus every should bow, of those in heaven, and those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord), and Romans 10:9 (that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.) God, Himself, gives you the free will to choose Him or not; an offer freely given to all no matter what your sin. But you have to first admit that you are a sinner, repent and turn from that sin, and accept the free gift of grace that none of us deserve. Please don't spend another day believing yourself to be wise in your own eyes, but rather, take your Creator at His Word. Your eternity depends on it and golly, you might even become a more prayerful and careful voter! God bless. ![]() |
