![]() During his tenure at Friendship Baptist Church, Rev. Clark served as the youth pastor, and later accepted the invitation to serve as their Senior Pastor in 1996. There, Rev. Clark implemented several outreach endeavors that provided avenues of ministry opportunities for inactive members. In addition, Rev. Clark sought to fulfill the vision given unto him by God as he successfully completed the expansive building project for the church. With spiritual clarity, Rev. Clark followed the voice of God as he was led to accept the pastorate of the Second Evening Star Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana where he lovingly served as Senior Pastor for five years before relocating to pursue his seminary studies. Due to his academic fervor, Rev. Clark obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Northwestern State University. He furthered his education as he earned a degree in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. With great sensitivity and understanding for theological precision, Rev. Clark continued his education as he earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. With an unwavering commitment to God and a determination to partner ministry and education, Rev. Clark is currently journeying through the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, MO where he is pursuing a Doctoral degree in Homiletics. Rev. Clark served as Senior Pastor of the Mount Poole Baptist Church in Ford, VA before accepting the invitation of Senior Pastor at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama in September 2007. Rev. Clark is committed to serving his community both nationally and locally as he participates in several ministry and civic organizations that seek to enhance the quality of life for their respective communities. As a result, Rev. Clark has joined the efforts of such organizations as he holds membership to the National Baptist Convention, USA, The Louisiana Home and Foreign Mission State Convention, Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention, The Ebenezer Baptist Association of Virginia, The Baptist General Convention of Virginia, NAACP, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. With the loving support of his wife, Evenda Degerail Barnes Clark, his two sons, Kurt, Jr. and Kaleb, Rev. Clark has dedicated his life and gifts to the spiritual and social emancipation of all of God's people. A pastor and prophet to this generation, he continues to center his ministry with the call of Isaiah 50:4, which states, "The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary."
