Our Sunday Service ![]() Your Christian Vision Sunday September 2,2007 By: Rev. Ruby Anderson The Christian Vision can best be summed up in two scriptures. (Mark 16:15) Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (Matthew 28:19,20) Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son , and of the Holy Ghost:Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Our Christian vision is to preach the gospel and to teach all nations. The Lord can use each of us to minister differently. Some minister by preaching, some by teaching , some by singing , some by writing , some teach children, some go into the mission field , some minister to the sick or to the elderly, some minister through online ministries or by supporting other ministries with their finances or time and talent and resources. But however the Lord chooses to minister through someone , the Christian vision remains unchanged at its root and core. The goal to lead souls to Christ and make disciples of all nations has never changed and cannot change. Sometimes a person can lose sight of the vision and get caught up in the things of this world , such as pride and position .And can become so full of themselves that they lose sight of the vision, it's not to have a 10,000 member mega church, it's not to become a famous televangelist it's to bring souls to Christ and make disciples of all nations , teaching them and baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Please don't misunderstand , there is nothing wrong with having a large congregation or with being on television there are many ministers who do both and keep the Christian Vision ever before them unchanged and intact, they keep both their balance and their focus with their eyes set firmly on Jesus Christ . This is as it should be, we should never become so big or popular that we lose sight of our vision , because our vision is not self centered, but Christ centered and the very moment we forget that or lose sight of it , we open the door to error. There was an evangelist who started out with a zeal for God , but became caught up in his own popularity and as he lost sight of his vision the door opened both to error and to seducing spirits. By the end of the 1960s this man was so consumed with self , he was proclaiming himself to be the endtime Elijah and toward the end his teachings were bordering on the occult. This man became consumed with self , We must always keep our Christian Vision - Christ centered , and not self centered .Anytime we take our eyes off Christ and place them on ourselves , we open the door to error and can become off balance. Whether you teach Sunday School, work in the Church Nursery , Minister to the Elderly, Whether you are an Usher or and Elder , a Deacon or a Doorman, a Pastor or a Teacher , a Prophet or Apostle , Evangelist , or Musician , writer or speaker, Youth Minister or Receptionist, whether you have an online mististry, small house church or mega church. You share the same vision described in Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19,20. Preach the Gospel to every Creature , teach all nations. that doesn't mean you have to go to a foreign mission field, there are people all around you who need to know Jesus Christ and need to learn and grow in him No matter what your position , no matter how God uses you to minister, no matter how big or small your ministry is keep the vision ever before you , never lose sight or focus of the fact your ministry is not about you , your vision, your mission , your ministry ,is to bring souls to Christ and to make disciples of all nations where ever you are. I hope that this teaching is a blessing to you , And I pray the Lords peace and and grace be upon you. Now unto him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultlessbefore the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, and dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude 24-25) ![]()
