T.E. Sarrels is the leader of the Tuesday Night Breakthrough Meetings and is a local, successful, Christian businessman. However, it wasn't always that way. T.E. used to be a rebel living an outlaw life of dealing drugs and living on the fringes of society. This lifestyle eventually ran him afoul of the law and he found himself sitting in a concrete cell in the local jail. T.E. came to realize that there has to be something better than the life he was living. He realized that he needed our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ in his life. As he dropped to his knees in that cold, concrete cell and asked for forgiveness, T.E. was delivered and became a new creation in Christ Jesus. As it is written in Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. T.E. has a powerful testimony to share and can tell everybody how faith in our Lord gave him that breakthrough in his life and how that faith and acceptance of Jesus in your life can give you a breakthrough too!
Chaplain Kenneth DeWittOnce a month, Chaplain Kenneth DeWitt leads our Breakthroguh Meetings and classes. Chaplain DeWitt has been teaching life skills seminars for over twenty years and has been a chaplain at the McPherson Unit of the Arkansas Department of Correction for over seven years. Chaplain DeWitt ministers to all those lost women in prison on a daily basis telling them about the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Chaplain Dewitt brings a powerful word to our Breakthrough Meetings and lets people know how continuing to life a lifestyle against God's Word will only lead to heartache and devastation. |

Monday Night Bible ClassOn Monday nights, Doc Spurlin volunteers his time out of his busy schedule to teach a class. Doc is a licensed minister with a Doctorate in Divinity and a Doctorate in Psychology. He also is an accomplished musician and ventriloquist. Doc has previously been involved with working with addicted and troubled youth at a large rehabilitation facility in another state. Doc knows and understands the problems that addictions, depression and hopelessness can lead too. With being a licensed minister and Christian psychologist, Doc is very effective in helping people deal with problems that are haunting them. It is such a blessing to have Doc Minister to our class through music, ventriloquism and most importantly, the Word of God. |

Thursday Night Bible ClassSherrill Fagan is our Thursday Night Bible class instructor. Mr. Fagan is a retired pastor and active licensed minister in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas. He drives a long distance to bring to our class his many years of knowledge and we sincerely appreciate him. Currently Mr. Fagan is a doing a study on the Book of Revelation and is helping our class understand that the second coming of Christ is fast approaching and that everyone needs to accept Jesus as their Savior in anticipation of that glorious day when we will be reunited with Him. Because of his love and caring for the residents of our programs and all others that attend his Bible studies and for his love of the Word of God, we give a special thank you to Mr. Fagan! |

Friday Night Bible ClassJerry Carrick teaches our Friday Saturday Bible Class and is a local pastor right here in Newport, AR. Jerry has been teaching Bible studies in our program since the first men's recovery house was opened. He has an unparalleled love for teaching the precious word of the Bible to our class. Jerry, before he accepted the Lord some ten years ago, was an addict who partied whenever he could. So many people prayed for his salvation and that shows the power of prayer, for God answered those oh so many prayers. Jerry understands the feelings and problems of someone who has had an addictive lifestyle and can truly relate to them, through his testimony and the Word of God. We sincerely thank him for his many years of service doing God's will! |

Saturday Night Bible StudyKevin Womack is our Saturday Night Bible Class Instructor. Kevin is the head electrician at the largest employer in Newport, Arkansas and loves to spread Jesus' good news to his co-workers. But at one time in his life, Kevin was an angry man that ended up in prison in an adjoining state. but through the grace and mercy of our Lord, Keven became a living testimony of how God can change people's lives and how God can replace anger with joy and peace. Kevin has been teaching Bible studies for over a year and a half and his studies always elicit though provoking questions and answers. The New Life Church is truly blessed to have Kevin on our team bringing the wonderful Word of God on Saturday Nights. |

God's BlessingGod has really been giving His blessing through all these weekly meetings and studies. We are so blessed to have such dedicated volunteers that are wanting and willing to help all those that come to hear. We, at Project New Start, are reaching out to those with addictions, those who are grief stricken, those who have gone through abusive relationships, divorces, etc. Nothing is too hard to overcome with Jesus on your side. He can do the impossible. With Him, all things are possible. We are claiming in prayer the removal of all drugs in our towns and communities and we are claiming the renewal of hearts and families that have been torn apart by this satanic scourge. In Jesus Christ's name we are taking back what the devil has stolen from us. If you live in either Newport, Arkansas or the surrounding area, please come out and join us on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. for our meetings and classes. The New Life Church also offers one on one counseling for all those that desire it. Help us take back our town and the surrounding area for the glory of God! |
