Mountains Of Grace World Outreach Center
Testimony Of Rev. Calvin C. White
I was born on September 24, 1967 in Guntersville, Alabama to Mack and Wanda White. I grew up in the Marshall County community of Alder Springs, which is nestled between Guntersville and Albertville. My parents are now in their 70’s. My father is a retired police officer and maintenance man. My mother is retired after working various jobs, many of which utilized her secretarial skills.

I have one sister, one brother, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, two nephews, two niece-in-laws, one great-niece, two aunts, and several cousins.

I married my beautiful wife Michelle on May 11, 2000.

I was born again on September 2, 1984, after the Sunday night service at the Beth Haven Baptist Church in Kilpatrick, Alabama. I was led to Christ by Bro. Bruce Rice.

I have this to say about my conversion, “I knew that people who died in their sins went to hell, Rev. 20:15. I did not want to go to hell. So I cried out to the Lord Jesus Christ. I told Him that I was a sinner. I believed that He died on the cross, and shed His blood to pay my sin debt. I believed He rose again from the dead. I invited Christ to come into my heart to be my personal Saviour. I was gloriously saved, Romans 10:13.”

By the spring of 1985 I felt the call of God to enter the ministry, but I resisted the call. I did not want to be a preacher. I wanted to be a police officer like my dad. So, after high school graduation (Beth Haven Christian Academy, May 22, 1987), I went to several police departments, but was not able to get a job as a police officer.
In January 1991 I went into the Army. I became a cook. I enlisted for three years, but left after only 14 months because of back problems (that is a whole other story).

My army experience was both interesting and terrifying. It opened my eyes to how things are in the real world, especially race relations. God got me through a lot of scary situations. The scariest was when a drunken man tried to kill me. It happened in October 1991. I had been at my permanent duty station in Baumholder, Germany for almost three months. For some reason that I can’t explain, I do not remember the exact date. But late one night a man who had been out drinking with my roommate (I lived on post in a barracks) walked into the room where I was trying to sleep. We got into an argument. He attacked me. He tried to suffocate me to death. Thank the Lord someone went and got the C.Q. (Charge of Quarters). If the C.Q. had not walked in I would have been killed.

But God had and still does have a plan for my life. I survived the attack, and stayed in Germany for a total of seven and a half months. I endured some more trials but God never left me, Hebrews 13:5.

I started having back problems in November 1991. The problem was caused by hip defect that I was born with. It initially kept me out of the Army (but I fought to get in). I was pursuing a medical discharge, but was told by my unit commander that he would oppose it. So I had to settle for what was called a “for convenience of the government” discharge. At least it was an honorable discharge. I left Germany on March 15, 1992. I arrived at Charleston, South Carolina and caught a bus to Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The next day, March 16, 1992, I out processed from the United States Army. I came home to Alabama.

The Lord was testing me, putting me through a process of getting me ready to serve Him in the ministry. On August 10, 1992, at the Sunday night service of the Beth Haven Baptist Church, I answered God’s call to preach.
Four days later, on Thursday, August 14, 1992, Mountains of Grace Ministries was founded. In September 2003 the name was changed to Mountains of Grace Ministries World Outreach Center. Eventually it was shorten to Mountains of Grace World Outreach Center. On August 19, 1992, I went on radio.

The main focus of the ministry has always been radio and literature. Although in the early years I did some preaching in local churches, street preaching, and preaching at a rescue mission.

Through the years the ministry has had many mailing addresses, office locations, phone numbers, and has been on several radio stations. But the one thing that has never changed is the uncompromised preaching of the Authorized King James Bible in general, and the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24) in particular.

I have strived to stand for the truth, no matter the cost. Even when doing so has gotten me bad mouthed and slandered, shunned by fellow ministers, kicked off job sites, written up in a report, and threatened with a lawsuit.

I would like the legacy of the Mountains of Grace World Outreach Center to be that we fulfilled our Statement of Purpose, which is: 1. To proclaim the gospel of the grace of God, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 20:24. 2. To strengthen and edify the born again believer in the body of Christ, Luke 22:32; Romans 14:19; 1 Thessalonians 5:11. 3. To earnestly contend for the faith, Jude 3. 4. To take a bold stand for the Authorized King James Bible of 1611 (in any edition, in any language), Isaiah 34:16; Isaiah 40:8; Romans 4:3.
