Section 1: Stories about parents
=============================================================
Pray for parents and their many decisions that have an impact on the future!

Amittai, father to Jonah

Ruth was mother-in-law parent to Naomi. She was returning to her country, where she did not seem to have been "missed" since she had left with her husband.
Her daughter-in-law Naomi was not "missing" to her of course. But her daughter-in-law must have thought about her own relatives that she did not choose to go back to.
Naomi was "missing" to them. Ruth must have consoled her about them.
refugees - Ruth, mother(-in-law)to Naomi (Naomi's biological mother - deceased?) Ruth could maybe have returned to her mother's family home, but she chose to go with Naomi. How could Ruth's family have known of her whereabouts and her future?

The parents of the cured blind beggar by Jesus hardly knew much when they testified about him. He was begging elsewhere and so was "missing" to his parents.
2515 - "He's old enough" missing person? Ask him -he can answer for himself.
It's not impossible. Don't give up! Ask neighbours and travellers. Look in key locations.

Rebekah was Jacob's mother. After the birthright scheme, where she played a major part, Jacob had to leave and be "missing" for his mother.
Laban was Jacob's father-in-law, a parent to Rachel and Leah. He was possessive and ended up with "missing" daughters and grandchildren.
2555 - Jacob was missing!
Laban pursued him for 7 days and caught up with him.

Imagine parents among the "Missing Human Loot"

Mary and Joseph, parents to the missing 12-year-old Jesus

When surrounded, an old man offered his virgin daughter to a gang of wicked men who asked to abuse a man.
Would he really have handed her over?
2590 - 2 out of 3 travelers saved by friendly city man!
One was gang raped and left for dead by some of the wicked men of the city!

A parent died. The other parent had creditors coming to take their children.
Did the parent really take from them? The children might go missing. But the children helped mother work. They collected jars from neighbours and filled the jars.
They were warned to seek help with the neighbours, when the creditors were coming.
Go into hiding with them, if necessary.
2591 Elisha wasn't always around...when creditors came for children.
Any truly persistent widow with an adversary would also have a judge and ally.

The innocent babies that were murdered by Herod's command had parents. Rachel, who was close to her baby, was unconsolable. It doesn't say anything about the state of mind of the "other parent". Were they not there? Had they run away during the terrible deed, because they couldn't help? Were they consolable, because they were "not so bonded" to the baby yet? Or were they also unconsolable?
2607 A voice was heard...they are no more.
Herod's unavoidable order and the innocents.

Moses' parents looked after him from before birth. They found the right midwives, who would not kill the boys. They found the right neighbourhood to live in, so the baby would not be found out. They picked the spot, where a benefactrice would find him. They kept track of him.
2608 Why have you done this? Why did you let the baby boys live?
Baby Moses and his life conspirators who all offered: "Take this baby."

Jesus' parents--at his death--Joseph was not in the story and therefore presumed dead at the time. Mary was alive and lived through the death at a distance within view. She was "there" showing her love. She was not able to do as much as she wanted. She accepted John as her protector and adopted son. How did she take that she couldn't do more afterwards? She is not further in the written record. She seemingly retired from public life.
2623 Mary was at a distance when Jesus was dying. Jesus' words were recorded. He forgave many. Mary must have been told. (Missing gamblers too!)

Naaman's servant girl, like all humans, had parents. They are not named. When everyone was taken captive, what was their circumstance? Finding her, praying for her, remembering the lessons they had taught. Being reunited?
2624 Missing child with no say had quite some eloquence in another tongue!
She was trusted and blessed the household of her owners. Remember Joseph who was bought!

God bless you to encourage you today and always.

Section 2: About children (even adult ones)
Pray about children.

2589 - Jesus went missing when he was 12! He was about his father's business. Link Title: Go and make a search...with care.

Pray that children will following Jesus' example to take their parents into consideration while pursuing the paths that are necessary to find a vocation and/or a life partner. Pray that children and parents will work out what needs doing in God's plan. Pray about guidance given by other people when they recognize talents.
Pray for parental understanding when the children have to do something "unexpected".
------------------------------------------------------------
"Why are you crying?" Jesus asked of the woman who thought he was dead and missing. He knows about parents who worry unnecessarily.
He knows about parents who "worry" for a reason. Pray about it.
2588 - Not really missing!?
Reassuring words when someone important just has to leave for a short while.

Jonah was Amittai's grown child. Did he even know his son was missing?
3041 - Jonah ran away!
An urgent call to God for Nineveh-types and runaways.

Questions about a missing child...for searching.
2444 Dead or Alive?
Prayer and God's consoling concern.

The blind beggar was a child of parents in the city. They did not seem to be be responsible at least officially.
2515 - "He's old enough" missing person? Ask him -he can answer for himself.
It's not impossible. Don't give up! Ask neighbours and travellers. Look in key locations.

Jacob was Rebekah's and Isaac's child. He was only missing to Rebekah.
Jacob was Laban's child by marriage. He ran away from Laban according to God's plan because he was not treating him fairly or justly.
2555 - Jacob was missing!
Laban pursued him for 7 days and caught up with him.

Could there be children among the human loot?
2587 Missing human loot
Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come? Isaiah 42:23

The helpful safety-oriented old man offered his virgin daughter (how young? not developed?) to a gang of homosexuals. He must have thought they would leave her alone.
In the end they did, but they could have, because the gang did abuse a woman all night!
What was the old man's relationship to his daughter after that? Forgiveness?
The old man did save the life of everyone else in his house that night.
2590 - 2 out of 3 travelers saved by friendly city man!
One was gang raped and left for dead by some of the wicked men of the city!

The widow had children that the creditors wanted.
2591 Elisha wasn't always around...when creditors came for children.
Any truly persistent widow with an adversary would also have a judge and ally.

Moses as a child did not know the whole truth about who he was. He had constant contact until he was weaned. Then he had limited contact with his family and was somewhat "missing" to them. Later he found out the "missing" truth and it changed his life.
2608 Why have you done this? Why did you let the baby boys live?
Baby Moses and his life conspirators who all offered: "Take this baby."

Mary was at the cross, yet her grown son, her child, was "missing" to her. Jesus commended her to John and vice versa. She could not understand completely his mission on earth, even though she had pondered on it since the angel came to her as a young woman. He prayed for many others. And ended up being "missing" to Mary because of death.
The disciples were missing for Jesus in his last minutes, since many of them ran away.
Jesus was missing to his disciples too. They had run away from him. Yet a few days would change everything.
2623 Mary was at a distance when Jesus was dying. Jesus' words were recorded. He forgave many. Mary must have been told. (Missing gamblers too!)

A girl captive had learned to be kind and was a good servant in the situation she found herself in. It only speaks well of her upbringing and spiritual teaching (knowing about Elisha's healing power from God.
2624 Missing child with no say had quite some eloquence in another tongue! She was trusted and blessed the household of her owners. Remember Joseph who was bought!

God bless all peoples that are concerned for the wellfare of children.
God bless you by encouraging you today and always.

=============================================================
Section 3: About siblings.

Pray about siblings.

Jacob and Esau, twin brothers, fought about birthrights. They had obviously different talents. They were not happy with that. Rebekah their mother had a favorite. And they all paid for the "birthright" scheme dearly. Jacob left so Rebekah was missing a son. Esau left so Rebekah was missing the second. Jacob and Esau were estranged for many years. There were repercussions for the next generations too.
God gave Rebekah a glimpse of the rivalry at birth and she enquired of the Lord about the situation. See Genesis 25:19 on.
2555 - Jacob was missing!
Laban pursued him for 7 days and caught up with him.

Could there be someone's sibling among the "human loot"?
2587 Missing human loot
Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come? Isaiah 42:23

The creditors were coming after the children. The siblings could be missing together. Or maybe the creditors would only take one child? Were would the sibling be? Missing?
2591 Elisha wasn't always around...when creditors came for children.
Any truly persistent widow with an adversary would also have a judge and ally.

Herod wanted the baby boy children of Bethlehem dead...that means that the older siblings were left alive, to survive that terrible ordeal. They lived with the aftermath of their mother being unconsolable. They had to fend for themselves, find grandparents, other relatives... to live or...go into hiding --"missing" in their turn to avoid Herod coming after them.
2607 A voice was heard...they are no more.
Herod's unavoidable order and the innocents.

Miriam, Moses' older sister prevented him from going "missing" in the river or otherwise by babysitting him at the river's edge.
2608 Why have you done this? Why did you let the baby boys live?
Baby Moses and his life conspirators who all offered: "Take this baby."

Was Naaman's wife's servant girl an only child? If not, she had siblings. Since she talked with her lady, she would have talked about her siblings, her parents and others to her. Seems the lady relayed the servant girl's information about possible healing to her leader husband...it seems that she would have relayed other concerns too...concerns of a loving sister. 2624 Missing child with no say had quite some eloquence in another tongue!
She was trusted and blessed the household of her owners. Remember Joseph who was bought!

May God bless you to encourage you today and always.
=============================================================
Section 4: About spouses
Pray about spouses...

Adam and Eve were missing to God by hiding.
2433 - Missing or Hiding?
"I was afraid.....so I hid."

The parents of the blind man cured by Jesus agreed on their testimony before the Pharisees.
They seemed to stick together, before, during and after the cure.
2515 - "He's old enough" missing person? Ask him -he can answer for himself.
It's not impossible. Don't give up! Ask neighbours and travellers. Look in key locations.

The Bride in the Song of Songs went looking for her "missing" husband.
2550 - If you find him...tell him I am faint with love.
Two similar city searches with different endings!

Rebekah and Issac were spouses. They had divergent ideas about their children. It seems things could not be resolved equitably.
Issac could give the final formal parental blessing near death. Isaac thought he only had one blessing to give.
His society thought that. Esau questioned that. Jacob and Rebekah had questioned the status quo before and changed their lives. Esau only got a statement of how things were going to be. Not a curse. Not a blessing.
Esau got the statement that would have been for Jacob. He had time to think about parental and societal fairness. He had time to think about blessing all children, because he had craved a blessing himself.
2555 - Jacob was missing!
Laban pursued him for 7 days and caught up with him.

Could there be someone's spouse among the "human loot"?
2587 Missing human loot
Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come? Isaiah 42:23

Mary and Joseph had each other as they looked for the 12-year-old Jesus who was missing.
The boy had not given them cause to worry before. The spouses supported each other.
2589 - Jesus went missing when he was 12!
Go and make a search...with care.

The husband who went after his unfaithful concubine to bring her home, put her in danger when he gave her to a gang of wicked men who were surrounding the home of his host.
He underestimated what the gang would do to her. He expected her to get up in the morning and leave with him after being abused by the gang during the night. He thought she could travel even though she would not have slept. He was not attentive to whimpers...not attentive to life-saving whimpers at the door.
But then he was outraged and demanded justice from all the communities. It ended up with a war in the community.
2590 - 2 out of 3 travelers saved by friendly city man!
One was gang raped and left for dead by some of the wicked men of the city!

The spouse died. The creditors were coming to get the children for unpaid debts. Were they trumped up?
The children could go missing. What was the widow to do?
2591 Elisha wasn't always around...when creditors came for children.
Any truly persistent widow with an adversary would also have a judge and ally.

After Herod had the baby boys killed, spouses had various reactions. "Rachel" was unconsolable. She was disinterested in regular day-to-day living. Disinterested probably in regular married life. Did she blame her spouse? She could say: We should have left...I told you....You could have saved the baby, if...if...if...
2607 A voice was heard...they are no more.
Herod's unavoidable order and the innocents.

Jochabed and her husband were spouses who looked after their baby boy Moses.
2608 Why have you done this? Why did you let the baby boys live?
Baby Moses and his life conspirators who all offered: "Take this baby."

May God bless you to encourage you today and always.
May God remind spouses to bless all children in a special way together when there is still time.
=============================================================
Pray about grandchildren and grandparents...
=============================================================
Section 5: Pray about missing babies.

2587 This links to the story of "Missing human loot". There could be babies among the human loot, n'est-ce pas?
In the story is the following admonition:
"Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come?" Isaiah 42:23 Are we listening?
----------------------------------------------------------
Do you have to leave your baby? Jesus knows about it, because he does ask "Why are you crying?" of you too.
Pray about situations like this. You will be prepared too, when something like this happens.
2588 - Not really missing!?
Reassuring words when someone important just has to leave for a short while.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Are babies safe from a parent's creditors? They can be "snatched" when they are old enough? (Indentured too.)
2591 Elisha wasn't always around...when creditors came for children.
Any truly persistent widow with an adversary would also have a judge and ally.
-----------------------------------------------------------
This links to Herod's unavoidable order and the story oof the innocents. Real babies died because of Herod's jealosy and megalomania. He was not there when the deed was done. Just the "unquestioning" soldiers that "did their duty".
2607 The title: A voice was heard...they are no more.
----------------------------------------------------------
Baby Moses had life conspirators to make him safe--they all took the offer of: "Take this baby." when it was their turn.
Baby Moses didn't go missing by death or by being hidden away from his family. That was for his own good. Many people were required to prevent him from being missing--
the midwives, the mother, the neighbours, the courageous sister, the oppressor's daughter (could be the "5th column")...
2608 Why have you done this? Why did you let the baby boys live?
-----------------------------------------------------------
God bless you and the precious little ones today and always.
=============================================================
Section 6: About some Bible grandchildren.

"Early the next morning Laban kissed his grandchildren and his daughters and blessed them.
Then he left and returned home." Genesis 31:55
The grandchildren had to move, because the relationships of the parents with the grandparents were not the best. They probably only saw each other when someone travelled the whole way or both travelled half-way to meet.
2555 - Jacob was missing!
Laban pursued him for 7 days and caught up with him.

Could there be grandchildren among the "human loot"?
2587 Missing human loot
Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come? Isaiah 42:23

"Why are you crying?" Jesus asked of someone who thought her friend was dead and missing.
Jesus is concerned for those whose who worry about their grandchildren and those whose grandchildren are truly missing.
2588 - Not really missing!?
Reassuring words when someone important just has to leave for a short while.

The baby grandchildren were killed and forever missing on Herod's command. But the older children survived.
Rachel, the mother was unconsolable, and had trouble looking after her other children. Who would look after them...grandparents? other relatives?
2607 A voice was heard...they are no more.
Herod's unavoidable order and the innocents.

God bless all grandchildren. Let them honour their parents and grandparents.
=============================================================
Section 7: About Bible grandparents.

Laban was grandfather to grandchildren by Jacob with Rachel or Leah. Laban put material things and his own sons before his relationships with Jacob, his daughters or his grandchildren.
When God told Jacob to leave, it was too late. Laban lost the opportunity to see his grandchildren often.
He pursued the families for 7 days. He tried to get the families back on his terms.
Finally he extracted solemn promises of not mistreating his daughters, slept on it, kissed his grandchildren and then his daughters, blessed them, left them and returned home.
2555 - Jacob was missing!
Laban pursued him for 7 days and caught up with Jacob.

Could there be grandparents among the "human loot"?
2587 Missing human loot
Which of you will listen to this or pay close attention in time to come? Isaiah 42:23

"Why are you crying?" Jesus asked of someone who thought their loved one was dead and missing.
Jesus is loves those who are concerned about grandparents too with reason and unnecessarily.
2588 - Not really missing!?
Reassuring words when someone important just has to leave for a short while.

The babies who were "missing" by death through Herod, had grandparents. These mourned themselves, had to look after Rachel who was unconsolable and had to look after the surviving grandchildren.
2607 A voice was heard...they are no more.
Herod's unavoidable order and the innocents.

May God encourage you today.
