BIOGRAPHY
Rev. Wayne Hodge grew up in Ruby, South Carolina, where he gave his heart to the Lord at the age of fourteen. He is an ordained Bishop in the Church of God. He is truly a unique and accomplished man of God. Wayne loves to sing and preach the gospel where ever the Lord opens a door.
Wayne began singing at a young age. He has ministered in song with several southern gospel groups such as Spiritwind and The Singing Evangelists. While traveling with The Singing Evangelists, he felt led to leave the group and start singing with his family. It wasn’t long before he and his wife “Shirley” and children “Michael and Denise” were spreading the gospel in song all over the east coast. The group was named The Hodge Family. They have recorded many songs over the years and a few made it in the top 100 songs in southern gospel music.
While singing with his family, God called Wayne into pastoral work. He has successfully pastored several churches in South Carolina such as Kings Creek COG, Williston GOG, Goose Creek GOG and Society Hill COG. During his ministry at Society Hill COG he was elected to serve on the South Carolina Youth and Christian Education Board for the Church of God for a four year term.
During the summer of 2005, God opened the doors for Wayne to fullfill a life-long dream. He joined the South Carolina State Evangelism team for the Church of God. He currently is a full-time state evangelist where he travels from church to church in revivals and also he still gets to sing with the family whenever possible.
