The big lie
First of all, let me make it clear that God will never leave us or forsake us (His word says so) He is true to His word. If, we continue to believe and follow Christ. Continue, ..... You; however, can change your mind (you have free will) and leave and forfeit your salvation. People say they are eternally secure. This sounds grand but does not this statement suggest a license to sin? Jesus death is the sacrifice for our sins yes, but we cannot continue to willfully sin. If you walk away from God to do your own thing, the Bible says "they are dead and lost (Luke 15:24) The story of the prodigal son (Luke 15: 11-32).... The son came to a place in his life where he said, I have sinned against heaven and my father. He decided to REPENT and go back. If once saved always saved were true, we could run out on our family, leave husband and wife, move in with anyone we choose, have an affair, drink and be merry without a care. Exodus 32:33 The Lord said to Moses, "whoever has sinned against me, I will blot him out,".......you have to have at one point been in the book (book of life) to be blot out, don't you? That person cannot say that they were never born again Christian in the first place. Have they not turned their back and walked away from their belief, their responsibility? Revelation 3:5 says, He who overcomes (overcomes) shall be clothed in white garments and I will not blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. It is clear then that you must overcome and this overcoming happens when you follow Christ. John 8:12, Then Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life." Receiving the word (Revelation 3:3) you have life, BUT, not holding fast we can defile ourselves and by doing so fall to sin, fall away and NO LONGER HAVE ETERNAL LIFE! Once saved, always saved is a LIE! If you have walked away, repent and re-claim your salvation now, just like the prodigal son did. Don't you think that this story is in the Bible for good reason?////??????????? Study the Bible for the truth, do not believe everything you read in well meaning Christian books. The word of God is the authority and final word. If you disagree with anything I have said, go to the word..
