That Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and raised from the dead. That He ascended into heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the intercessor. 4. That all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins. 5. That justification, regeneration, and the new Birth was Wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. 6. In sanctification subsequent to new Birth, through faith in the blood of Christ, through the Word, and the Holy Spirit. 7. Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people. 8. John 10:9. The Bible says: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13. Prayer of Salvation "Dear Jesus, I believe in You. I believe You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins, and that You were buried and rose again as written in the Bible. I'm sorry for the things I've done that hurt You. Forgive me for all my sins. Come into my heart, take charge of my life and make me the way You want me to be. With Your ever present help, I renounce all my sinful practices of the past. Cleanse my heart with Your precious blood. Write my name in Your Book of Life. I confess You now as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You, Jesus! In Jesus' Name, Amen." 2THESSALONIANS 3:2-3 (LIVING BIBLE) 2. Pray, too, that we will be saved from wicked and evil people, for not everyone believes in the Lord. 3. But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from the evil one. Romans 5 Faith Brings Joy 1. Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory. 3. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to endure. 4. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. 5. And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. 6. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7. Now, no one is likely to die for a good person, though someone might be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's judgment. 10. For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life. 11. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God--all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God. Adam and Christ Contrasted 12. When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. 13. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. And though there was no law to break, since it had not yet been given, 14. they all died anyway--even though they did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. What a contrast between Adam and Christ, who was yet to come! 15. And what a difference between our sin and God's generous gift of forgiveness. For this one man, Adam, brought death to many through his sin. But this other man, Jesus Christ, brought forgiveness to many through God's bountiful gift. 16. And the result of God's gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to condemnation, but we have the free gift of being accepted by God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17. The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over us, but all who receive God's wonderful, gracious gift of righteousness will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. 18. Yes, Adam's one sin brought condemnation upon everyone, but Christ's one act of righteousness makes all people right in God's sight and gives them life. 19. Because one person disobeyed God, many people became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many people will be made right in God's sight. 20. God's law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God's wonderful kindness became more abundant. 21. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful kindness rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Who is wise and understanding among you? Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity. 3This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4. for he wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5. For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is the man Christ Jesus. 6. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message that God gave to the world at the proper time. 7. And I have been chosen--this is the absolute truth--as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles about faith and truth. 8. So wherever you assemble, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. 2 Timothy 3 The Dangers of the Last Days 1. You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3.They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good. 4. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5. They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that. 6. They are the kind who work their way into people's homes and win the confidence of[a] vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by many desires. 7. Such women are forever following new teachings, but they never understand the truth. 8. And these teachers fight the truth just as Jannes and Jambres fought against Moses. Their minds are depraved, and their faith is counterfeit. 9. But they won't get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as happened with Jannes and Jambres. Matthew 6 Teaching about Giving to the Needy 1. "Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. 2. When you give a gift to someone in need, don't shout about it as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3. But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. 4. Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly. Proverbs 3 Trusting in the LORD 1. My child,[a] never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart, 2. for they will give you a long and satisfying life. 3. Never let loyalty and kindness get away from you! Wear them like a necklace; write them deep within your heart. 4. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will gain a good reputation. 5. Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths. 7. Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn your back on evil. 8. Then you will gain renewed health and vitality. 9. Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything your land produces. 10. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with the finest wine. 11. My child, don't ignore it when the LORD disciplines you, and don't be discouraged when he corrects you. 12. For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child[b] in whom he delights. 13. Happy is the person who finds wisdom and gains understanding. 14. For the profit of wisdom is better than silver, and her wages are better than gold. 15. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16. She offers you life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. 17. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. 18. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly. 21. My child, don't lose sight of good planning an 21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; 22 they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. 23 Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; 24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. 25 Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, 26 for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared. 27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow when you now have it with you. 29 Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you. 30 Do not accuse a man for no reason when he has done you no harm. 31 Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, 32 for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence. 33 The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. 4:607 6. Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. 7. Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment. 22:4 4. True humility and fear of the LORD lead to riches, honor, and long life. 22:7 7. Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. 22:9 9. Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. 22:11 11. Anyone who loves a pure heart and gracious speech is the king's friend. 22:16 16. A person who gets ahead by oppressing the poor or by showering gifts on the rich will end in poverty. 22:24-25 24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, 25 or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared. 4:26 26. An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. 25:21-22 21. If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. 22You will heap burning coals on their heads, and the LORD will reward you. 29:22-23 22 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins. 23 A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. 29:27 27. The godly despise the wicked; the wicked despise the godly. ![]() |
