Arizona DeVane was born on January 27, 1956. He is a native of Ivanhoe, North Carolina. Arizona attended Bland Elementary, Clear Run Jr. High, and graduated from Union High School in 1974. He joined the Army after high school and shortly thereafter married his high school sweetheart, Annette, on December 20, 1974. The couple had a son the following year.
Arizona was deployed to Korea for a year. Upon his return, Arizona became a Drill Seargent and his family was stationed in Columbia, SC. Here, their daughter was born in 1980. From Columbia, Arizona and his family were stationed at Hanau, Germany; Lawton, Oklahoma; and Wertheim, Germany. In Wertheim (1990) Arizona got saved at Peden Gospel Worship. From Wertheim, Arizona was stationed at Newburgh, New York. There, he retired after 20 years of service and then moved back to Columbia, SC (1994).
Arizona went to school at Midlands Tech. College and later started his own business, DeVane's Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning. While attending Dentsville Church of God, Arizona accepted his call into the ministry (1998). He became an ordained minister and became the Assistant Pastor at his church. He later became a bishop (2005). In August 2005, Bishop Arizona DeVane became the pastor of Elgin Church of God.
