FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. Apart from making a personal donation, how can I help further?

A. Obviously each donation of whatever amount is valued beyond measure as it demonstrates that the donor is a caring and compassionate person. To answer your question, we need to organise fund-raising teams throughout the country and the world that will make our dream a reality. If you want to join or start such a team please let us know.

ALSO PLEASE CLICK ON TO THE VIRAL MARKETING APPEAL PAGE AND JOIN US IN THIS CAMPAIGN.

Q. How can I help people learn more about the Geoff Bone Wheelchair Project?

A. The main method is by talking enthusiastically and give an information brochure to those you personally know at home and work. Each person has their own “circle of influence” and personal recommendation is by far the best way to get people to act. Please request further materials if you need them or you can go to your local instant printer for copies. Perhaps you could ask at work if you could make some copies. Only do this with permission of course!

Q. What will a Fund-raising Committee consist of?

A. There will be a leader (that could be you) then a Treasurer and a Secretary. After that members can be responsible for specific areas such as Businesses, Schools, Churches, Mosques, Temples, and Clubs etc. Cheques should always be made payable to the main a/c and forwarded on. The Treasurer should always send cash donations as soon as they reach more than £50. The committee can organise any fund-raising event so long as they get appropriate permission from any authorities.

Q. Are there any paid members of Staff?

A. Currently the answer is no but as time goes by the need may arise for paid staff members so that they can devote their whole time to the project.

Q. I am a resident of country outside of the UK and would like to participate. What should I do?

A. It will take the active participation of the whole world to raise the amount of money needed for 130 million wheelchairs so you can play an active role by forming a team in you own town. The transfer of funds will need to be discussed but it shouldn’t be too much of a job. You may have to register as a NGO in your own country. In the USA we already have charitable status through Premier Network Ministries so if you are in the USA please email me for further details.

Q. I am a Disabled person in a developing country in need of a wheelchair. How can I apply for one?

A. Distribution will be through officially organised NGO’s operating in the countries concerned. Please do not contact us with requests as this will simply take up valuable time that can be spent on fund raising. Thank you.

Q. Are you a Registered Charity in the UK?

A. Not yet. We have opened an account as a Charitable Club with a Constitution. This will serve our purpose as a temporary measure until we can register with the Charity Commission. We now have the 3 Trustees and have completed the Registration Application forms for the Charity Commissioners. It should not take long to process and we may have a Charity Number in the UK in a few months time. In the USA we are already operating as a 501(c)3 and can issue tax-deductible receipts to USA tax payers. Bridge the Gap, in Tulsa handles all that for us.
