The Acts Strategy
![]() Why is it so hard to say those first few words about the most important Person in your life? Why do I hesitate to pass along the best news I have ever heard to others? Is there anything that will help me to do the very thing I want so much to do - to tell others that I have found a way of surviving death, living forever, being forgiven of my sins and exploring the goodness of God forever? In many ways the Church is not silent. The sounds of well-amplified music echo through its halls. Impashioned sermons fill the sanctuary. Laughter and conversation flow into the parking lots. Yet, in the midst of all these sounds, there is a disturbing quiet. It's called "our guilty silence." All too often, those of us who have so much to say to one another have little to say to those who desperately need what we have. Furthermore, we expect them to come to us when we should be going to them. The sad truth is that all too often we (believers) are not carrying on the pattern of the Book of (ACTS); of reaching the downtrodden the brokenhearted, the busted and disgusted....with the good news of Jesus Christ. In fact, we fail to reach either the rich or poor, the educated or the uneducated. While, enjoying one another, we are not reaching the those 'lost souls', who still are as we once were - without Christ. If so, this is "our guilty silence." Why do we find it difficult to break the silence about the best news and most important Person the world has ever known? The Holy Bible says: 'One shall chase a thousand (single believer) - two (married couple) shall chase ten thousand.' Let's get chasing for Christ Jesus!! ![]() |
