"Poems of Survial," contains my earlier poems. They revolve mostly around my anger and confusion of living with a mental illness. It reflects my desire to apportion responsibility and my quest for truth. "Poems of Survival" reveals my tentative steps towards having faith in God.

GOD’S VOICE IN MY HEAD
God is talking to me again
In my head
He assures me it is true
It is he.
However, it is also a symptom
Of my illness
I want to believe him
But as the meds take hold
The voice gets weaker
Surely I say
Boldly even perhaps
That if you are God
You will still be able to speak
Through the haze of drugs
I want to believe
I will always hear his voice
But I wonder if this is too
Much to ask.

I can feel the pain in Sue’s poems but without this suffering we would not have been given the opportunity to grow as people spiritually, God has infact Blessed Sue!

A Complicated Design
Life a complicated design, a web of intricate patterns,
encompassing me, within, somewhere
piece of starched white paper fluttered into my life
opportunity to grow, to push aside unseen boundaries
by doing so I need to risk, step out my comfort zone
having faith in self, Lord God, within essence of man.
