Warwickshire (inc. Birmingham)
It has been said that the shield or crest of Warwickshire meant hidden treasures
(and perhaps hidden treasure of darkness).
Battles/Bloodshed in Warwickshire
Warwickshire played a key part in the English Civil War, with the Battle of Edgehill and other skirmishes taking place in the county.
On the county map of England, it gives a county key, and the key for Warwickshire is war= Warwickshire.
Even as Warwickshire was obliterated by the enemy in WW2, the enemy has bombed this place over and over with his strategies and purposes. War was drawn to this area even by its name. God wants to take back Warwickshire and turn it into a place that turns The Knights Templars came first to a place in Warwickshire called Temple Balsall. This may or may not be significant.
Issues in BIRMINGHAM
Birmingham is the second biggest city in The UK.
The key points needing urgent prayer are:
1. The hugely deliberately blasphemous Jerry Springer: The Opera at Birmingham Hippodrome. Birmingham was where The Sikh community rioted and got a play they considered blasphemous pulled BY THE POLICE who refused to let it go ahead on public safety grounds. Birmingham had a 20 second tornado last year. This has NEVER happened before. A severe warning from God. The next one will be hugely destructive. This is a real spiritual encounter.
Birmingham Hippodrome is in the middle of the Chinese Quarter with Chinese gods everwhere. Please pray for local unity and strength and courage among
Christians as they oppose this blasphemy and spread The Good News outside the theatre. This will make natuional news. Please pray for the media to strongly support Jesus Christ in this battle.
2. Birmingham has a sexually sleazy spirit which needs overthrowing IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. It has more brothels, prostitutes and lap dancing clubs per capita than anywhere else in The UK. These are lauded by The local government. The buses in the town carry huge adverts inside and out for the lap dancing clubs. Even buses used by young children to go to school. There is a sex slavery industry bringing in "kidnapped" girls from Eastern Europe and elsewhere.
3. Birmingham University Christian Union is being persecuted because it will not accept a non-Christian being imposed on it as its leader to make it multi-faith, or politically correct changes to its constitution. Pray for defeat to turn to victory with a huge number of students being saved and filled with The Holy Spirit and placed in good soil.
4. The Moslem population in Birmingham is now huge in percentage terms. Some of it is increasingly hostile and militant concerning Birmingham's once superb Christian-Jewish heritage. Yet here more than anywhere there can be a dynamic turning to Jesus Christ of Moslems with very strong links to Pakistan. This can take The Gospel into The Second Biggest Moslem country and the only one founded as a Pure Islamic State. It has many gigantic beautiful Mosques, one of which was financed by Saddam Hussein. The local Moslem people in the main have very big hearts for charity in The Third World. Pray they find Jesus in huge numbers.
5. Birmingham was the first to ban Christmas and embrace the pagan festival of Winterval ! No restaurant, nor public place, nor most businesses were allowed to celebrate CHRISTmas or refer to Jesus Christ.
There is huge zeal among Moslems, Sikhs, Hindus and Secular Humanists. There is huge apathy among Christians who lack identifiable known leadership to rally around.
Pray leaders emerge and speak in the media with clear voices led expertly by The Holy Spirit.
6. Birmingham invented and exported the genre of Heavy Metal music. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Ozzie Osbourne, Judas Priest etc...they all belong to this area. It was the first City to import reggae from Jamaica into Europe. This also brought in Rastafarian worship and worship of cannabis.
7. There is huge gun crime, gang violence and drug wars in Birmingham. The notorious Johnson Crew and Burger Bar gang fight turf wars with guns...started with addiction to violent video games.
8. Birmingham wanted to set up a Gay Village nightlife sector to rival Manchester...but it may have gone away.
9. The City has suffered from lack of strong leadership since The Chamberlain family. It had in the late 1800s and early 1900s tremendous civic pride. Three of The Chamberlains went to Parliament and each got one of the top two jobs oin Government. Their reputation was immense until Neville Chamberlain Prime Minister appeased Hitler ! Birmingham has suffered apathy and shame since this time. It is a City seeking an Identity, Moral Clarity and Strong Leadership.
10. On the positive side...it is by far the most racially tolerant city in The UK. It is a very big community which is essentially very very friendly but this is masked by real fear of walking the streets or catching the buses by day or night.
11. We need the huge BBC News Studio in Birmingham to have a powerful move of The Holy Spirit. The few Christians in the media are very isolated and not really supported by prayer or encouragement in most local Churches.
12. Above all pray the city leaders in every field bless and support Jerusalem and Israel in obedience to God.
WARWICKSHIRE PRAYER POINTS.
1. Coventry second biggest city. Used to make Rolls Royce and other superb planes, cars, defence transportation and engines. Now looking for an identity. Linked to
Lady Godiva annual event (naked woman rides through streets on horse with devil’s riders) and put its civic trust in The Phoenix (pagan mythology).
2. Stratford-on-Avon is home of Shakespeare. Second biggest American Tourist spot in UK. Also home of UK history and heritage. Many museums relocated here.Home of children’s joys such as Teddy Bear museum and The Teletubbies TV show.
3.Warwick very near Stratford. Magnificent beautiful castle. Stronghold with
history of deciding who rules in both English Civil Wars.
Industry, past and present
During the Industrial Revolution Warwickshire became one of Britain's foremost industrial counties, with the large industrial cities of Birmingham and Coventry within its boundaries.
Birmingham was the biggest and first city of The Industrial Revolution. It was the workshop of the world especially viz cars and engineering. It was a manufacturing city designed with underground roads for cars. The manufacturing has collapsed. The City has lost almost any claim to media: film and TV production all left the city after companies merged. Yet is full of hugely talented hungry artists. The music infrastructure has also collapsed: nowhere for bands to play or get noticed.
The City had huge unemployment in the 1980s. Over 20% generally but some areas over 50%. This led to huge youth crime and lifelong career criminals.
The National Exhibition Centre and International Convention Centre host the biggest meetings (business, politics, social) in Europe with the exception of Frankfurt in Germany.
